Template:Infobox space marine chapterIf the rumours are true, it may explain why the Chapter was extremely well equipped and trained at their founding and the mystery around their Gene-Seed. According to Imperial records the Tempestus Nobilites are successors of the Marines Errant, who are successors of the Eagle Warriors, who are successors of the Ultramarines, but some believe that the Chapter Gene-Seed may be from or mixed with the Emperor's Children Legion. This may just be because of the Chapter's colours or how they seek to master all forms of combat, and Imperials are known to be a superstitious lot.

History

In the late M40 the Senatorum Imperialis issued an edict for a new founding, the 25th Founding of the Adeptus Astartes. The most well known chapters of the 25th Founding are the Emperor's Spears, the Fire Angels, the Omega Marines, and the Star Scorpions chapters, while few know of the other chapters of that founding, such as the Tempestus Nobilites. The Tempestus Nobilites are a Marines Errant successor chapter rumored to have been created on Holy Mars by the very Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl. Many believe that they are some sort of experiment, or were created for a specific purpose.

The Founding

With the declaration of the 25th Founding the Tempestus Nobilites launched a crusade from Holy Mars to the chapter's designated homeworld of Victoria in the Minerva System of the Ultima Segmentum. Defeating any and all foes of the Imperium that dared to challenge the might of the chapter. When the crusade reached the Minerva System all they found was a corrupt and crumbling society full of Chaos and Xenos worshiping cults. The Chapter Fleet engaged and destroyed the pirate and Ork Freebooterz fleets that terrorized the nearby worlds and destroyed the fleets of the corrupt Planetary Governors who have left the God-Emperor's Light. The slaughtering of the Planetary Defense Forces, Highborn, Chaos and Xenos Cults to the last being for betraying the Imperium of Mankind, would be known as Victorian Culling.

The Tempestus Nobilites restructured the Minerva System and it's people to better suit the chapter's needs, replacing the Highborn with those of Cadian stock.

Chapter Recruitment

Once a year all males ages ten to twelve years old in the Victorian Schola Progenium are brought to Victoria to conduct the Aspirant Trials. Dropped on the top of the mountains surrounding the Great Scorpion Desert, the inspiring aspirants must descend the mountain, and travel across the vast desert plains to the Tempestus Gate. Equipped with a lasgun, bayonet, 4 charge packs, flak armour, 1 drag grenade, 1 Krak grenade, and enough rations to last for a week. Being trailed by skull probes, the inspiring aspirants must maintain a noble bearing through out the trial or they will fail. Not all survive the trials for the Victorian Scorpions are dangerous beast who can easily tear through an Astartes in power armour. Those who fail to arrive at the Tempestus Gate in a week are retrieved by the Victorian Schola Progenium and brutally beaten by their Drill Abbots for weeks for their failure.

The few that arrive within a week and maintained their noble bearing, begin the next phase of the Aspirant Trails. Wielding only their bayonet, an inspiring aspirant must engaged an unarmed and unarmoured Astartes in close combat. The inspiring aspirant is not expected to ever win, instead this trail is to test his determination. The inspiring aspirant will die multiple times in his battle against the Astartes, Being resurrected each time by the nearby Apothecary. If his nobility does not waiver, nor does his determination to defeat the Astartes, than the inspiring aspirant continues to the next stages of the trials.

An Apothecary will conduct a complete and through exaimation of the inspiring aspirant. The aspirant must pure of any mutations, the only exceptions being the violet eyes of Cadians, psykers, the pariah gene, and perpetuals. Next a Chaplain will test his faith of the God-Emperor of Mankind, only those who have a deep belief in the Victorian Cult may become a member of the Tempestus Nobilites. Finally the inspiring aspirant will be examined by a Librarian for any taint of chaos. If the inspiring aspirant fails any of these examinations than he is sent back to the Victorian Schola Progenium, unless the taint of Chaos is discovered than he will be executed immediately.

In rare cases that an inspiring aspirant completes all the trails but the Chapter is currently in no need of any more Aspirants than he is awarded a medal than, is sent back to the Victorian Schola Progenium and will conduct the Aspirant Trails again the next year. If the inspiring aspirant passes all trails, is twelve years old and the chapter is at make strength, than the inspiring aspirant will be awarded a medal and subjected to genetic modifications to make him into what the Chapter calls a Pseudo-Astartes. These Pseudo-Astartes will be sent back to the Victorian Schola Progenium to continue their education, after graduating the Pseudo-Astartes are considered honourable members of the chapter and are allowed to participate in certain training exercises.

After passing all the trails an Aspirant will receive the first 3 phases of the Gene-seed implants and be sent to the XII Centuria to began their training as a Scout Marine. In the XII Centuria the Neophyte will learn what it means to be a Battle-Brother of the Tempestus Nobilites, learning the chapters history, culture, and beliefs. Once a Neophyte is deemed ready by the Master of Recruits he is sent to serve alongside the XI Centuria, where the Neophytes learn how to effectively provide fire support and become expert snipers. The Master of Relics will then send the Neophyte to the X Centuria to master the art of close combat, serving as apart of an Assault Scout Squad. Then a Neophyte is sent to the IX Centuria by the Lord Executioner to begin his training as apart of a Tactical Scout Squad, under the Chief Victualler. Afterwards the Neophyte will be transfered to the VIII Centuria to be learn how to operate a Scout Bike and finish his training as a Scout Marine. After advancing through the XIII, XI, X, IX, and VIII Centuriae, the Neophyte will be sent the II, III, IV, V, VI, or VII Centuriae to serve in a Scout Squad. Once the Neophyte has obtained all of his implants, there is an opening for a Battle-Brother available, and his Scout Sergeant and Centurio thinks he is ready, he will be imitated as a Battle-Brother of the chapter and assigned to the XII Centuria.

If a Neophyte fails to uphold the chapters standards, beliefs, culture, or way of life, they will continue serving as a Scout Marine until their implants are complete. Once their implantations are complete the failed Neophyte will be locked away in the chatper's Apothrcarium for 10 years so that the chapter may regain the genetic bounty given to the failed Neophyte. After his Progenoid Glands are extracted, the Neophyte will have his mind wiped of all of knowledge he has of the chapters culture and beliefs and become one of the chapter's serfs. If a Neophyte suffers a severe injury that is impossible to recover from then he will be transformed into a mindless servitor to continue serving the company. If any taint of Chaos is found in a Neophyte, than he shall be immediately executed by his Scout Sergeant.

Psykers and those possessing the Pariah Gene still have to conduct the Aspirant Trails but receive different training. Psykers are sent to the Librarius to become an Acolytum and develop their powers over the Warp powers under the tutelage of an Epistolary. Psykers who fail to uphold the chapter's standards have their Progenoids Glands harvested, are mind wiped, and sent to the Adeptus Astra Telepathica to be sacrificed to sustain the God-Emperor of Mankind. Acolytums who fall to the temptations of Chaos are immediately executed with no mercy. Those possessing the Pariah Gene receive training in the use of an Animus Speculum specifically modified for use by an Astartes and power armour. Those who fail to uphold the standards of the chapter and possess the Pariah Gene have their Progenoid Glands harvested, are mind wiped, and sent to the Culexus Temple to become a Culexus Assassin.
