Abyss Gazers Pict-File Unavailable The Abyss Gazers are one of the Chapters founded during the so-called 'Cursed' 21st Founding. The Abyss Gazers were founded in order to police the edges of the Eye of Terror and have only just managed to survive due to both bad luck, mutation, and a section of the chapter breaking away and turning to Chaos. After nearly twice being declared Excemmunicate Tratoris, the chapter is now somewhat closely monitored by the Inquisition much to their ire.
Aldium Spears Pict-File Unavailable The Aldium Spears were a formerly Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 13th ('Dark') Founding from unknown gene-stock. They were rigorously dedicated to the Emperor and were close allies with the Iron Scorpions Chapter. After a daemonic incursion on their Chapter home world of Aldium, and a subsequent victory, a mysterious contagion known as Rust, took hold on the Chapter. To this day, only 200 unaffected battle-brothers remain of the original 2,000, and remain quarantined at an undisclosed Inquisitorial facility. The remaining affected battle-brothers formed the dreaded Chaos warband known as the Gore Legion, wholly dedicated to Chaos, and most especially the Blood God Khorne. They dedicate every aspect of their existence to shedding bloodshed in the most brutal and painful of ways, using the most sadistic and bloody methods imaginable.
Amethyst Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Amethyst Knights are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of unknown lineage created during the 15th Founding. They were created to assist in the Dark Marches Crusade in M36, helping to bring over 30 worlds into imperial compliance until the death of their Grand Marshal forced them to pull back. Despite a large majority having been lost in the millennia following the Crusade, the Amethyst Knights have continued to battle the constant threats facing this region of the galaxy.
Angels Crepuscular Pict-File Unavailable Angels Crepuscular are a peculiar Loyalist Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, allegedly created during the 4th Founding in early to mid-M33. They were created using the gene-seed of the Angels Sanguine Chapter, and are thus a Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels. Like all Blood Angels Successors, the Angels Crepuscular suffer from the Blood Angels dreaded Flaw and are afflicted by the Black Rage and the Red Thirst. Like their Primogenitor Chapter, the Angels Crepuscular are considered only a partially Codex-compliant Chapter.
Angels Mortiferous Pict-File Unavailable The Angels Mortiferous are a particularly vainglorious Blood Angels successor chapter. Virtually every member of the chapter is eager to accumulate accolades in the heat of battle. Donning their jump packs the Angels Mortiferous enter the fray with unnerving glee, laughing maniacally as they slaughter the foe in Sanguinius' name. Whilst their skill in combat has gained them the recognition they seek, their worrying behaviour in the heat of battle has gained them a reputation for being slightly unhinged among those who have only interacted with them on the battlefield. Fortunately, away from the battlefield the Angels Mortiferous are soft-spoken, gentle and uniquely polite. This has proved to be their saving grace, making up for their somewhat eccentric behaviour in the heat of melee.
Angels of Purity Pict-File Unavailable The Angels of Purity are a formerly Loyalist Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels, created during the 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding. They were once fanatically loyal to the Imperium and merciless to it's enemies. But, like all other Blood Angel Successors, it was only a matter of time before they fell under the curse of the Black Rage . After centuries of locking up battle brother after battle brother, the Angels of Purity believed themselves to be cursed by the Imperium, that they were in fact the evil of the universe and not, as they were told, the Great Enemy . They were eventually excommunicated by the Imperium after they launched an attack on a Black Templar Fleet, destroying several of their vessels in the process. They are noted by Loyalist Chapters as savage and fanatical in their beliefs, and an unrelenting force that needs to be purged from the galaxy. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Angels of Solemnity Pict-File Unavailable The Angels of Solemnity are a Dark Angels Successor Chapter based within the Segmentum Solar. Created during the 5th Founding sometime during M33, they have continued displaying a strong desire to defend humanity, as they see it as the reason the Emperor created them. Though little is known of the Chapter's early history which remains lost in the shadowed wars of that bygone age, what is known is that the newly created Chapter was granted the dominion of the world of Dalris and its surrounding star system as their demesne. Most unusual for one of the Chapters of the Unforgiven (a Dark Angels Successor Chapter) they will often hold their post no mater the cost, even if there are known Fallen in the nearby area, much to the ire of their Progenitors.
Angels of the Hunt Pict-File Unavailable Esoteric and proud, the Angels of the Hunt are a mighty Chapter of the Unforgiven created during the 6th Founding. They operate within the Exile Sector, one of six Chapters making up the vaunted Justicarium. Of all the members of this loose confederation of Space Marine Chapters, brought together by the will of the Inquisition and mutual wishes of three of the founding Chapters, the Angels of the Hunt can almost easily be said to be of the most unorthodox of culture. (Though the most unorthodox in tactics is the purview of the Maverick Lords, whome they associate with often) A strange blend of the chivalric codes of the Unforgiven and neolithic warrior societies of the Feral World of Acirema, the Angels of the Hunt often evoke many of the same stereotypes of bloody savagery as the famous Space Wolves and White Scars as well as the usual aloof and insular natures of the Dark Angels Successors.
Angels Rampant Pict-File Unavailable The Angels Rampant are a successor chapter of the Blood Angels. They are known to have been founded during the so-called 'Dark Founding', or 13th Founding. The Angels Rampant are also known to suffer greatly from the twin curses that have plagued the Blood Angels and their successors for millennia; the Red Thirst and Black Rage. The Angels Rampant suffer much more from these curses than their cousins, why this is isn't entirely clear, though it has led to a large distrust from the rest of the Imperium towards the Angels.
Arbiter Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Arbiter Knights are a recently created 27th 'Ultima' Founding Chapter. Comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines, these Successors of the Dark Angels are a chapter whose sole purpose is to purge early signs of Chaos and xenos corruption. When the Arbiter Knights have deemed a soldier corrupt, the Arbiter Knights will stop at nothing to rid them of their existence. A loyal cause, but one of controversial practice. Many other factions, not just the parts of the Imperium, have come to see the actions of the Arbiter Knights as preemptive and overzealous agenda, which is not helped by their rumoured secretive links to the Inquisition. Although claiming loyalty to the Emperor of Mankind, their ability to make swift judgment and quick action against their fellow man has made many question their loyalty.
Argent Stars
Star Born
The Argent Stars are a Loyalist Non-Codex Compliant (originally Codex Compliant until they sustained too many losses) Space Marine Chapter of unknown founding and are a Dark Angels successor chapter. Known for their initial contradiction of seemingly staunch loyalty to the High Lords of Terra and their propensity to act on their own without many knowing their true goals, this chapter has raised more than a few questions and has answered almost none of them.
Ash Scorpions Pict-File Unavailable The Ash Scorpions are Loyalist semi-Codex-Complient Space Marine Chapter and 8th Founding Successors of the Imperial Fists Chapter. They are a proud Chapter and they try to adhere to the Codex Astartes wherever possible but have been known to disregard it if the situations warrants it.
Ashen Thanes
Ashen Thane
The Ashen Thanes are one of the oldest, non-founding chapters in the Imperium. Created sometime during the 4th or 5th Founding, and from uncertain lineage, they were formerly known as the Iron-Bound Thanes. Unfortunately most of the early records of the Iron-Bound Thanes were lost in the destruction of the Chapter's original Fortress-Monastery, Tol Elmoth, in M37 when the Blood God-worshiping World Eaters Traitor Legion attacked their homeworld, Taur-Hithlum. Rebuilding in the aftermath of this devastating attack, the Chapter reforged their sorely depleted ranks and renamed themselves the Ashen Thanes. Since that tragic era, the Ashen Thanes have gone on to become a well-respected Chapter
Astral Crusaders Pict-File Unavailable The Astral Crusaders are descended from the Imperial Fists from the 26th founding during the 41st millennium. While their founding was no detriment to the Imperial Fists or any other chapter, it still remains somewhat controversial. Founded as an experimental idea for rapid response there are those detractors who consider this particular Founding as not necessary, though alternative reasons are few and far in between. Originally this led to a level of distrust from other Astartes chapters, concerned that the Astral Crusaders were puppets of some political shadow who wormed their way into obtaining a chapter to do their bidding.
Angels Incarnadine Pict-File Unavailable The Angels Incarnadine are a non-Codex compliant successor of the Blood Angels from the 25th Founding. They are a fleet based chapter. Reduced to only 300 members due to the betrayal of a former ally, they have taken to the stars in search of revenge or honorable death in battle.
Angels of Descent
Angel of Descent
Know as the Descensum Angelorum in High Gothic, the Angels of Descent are successors of the First Legion. For millennia, they have waged wars against the enemies of man, relentlessly crushing those who would seek to usurp Imperial Rule. Numerous times the chapter has been broken, only to be reforged ever more potent in its duties against the enemies of The Emperor. As of the 42nd Millennium, the Chapter is almost entirely dedicated to maintaining Imperial Control over the Warp Gate connecting the Calixis-sector and Jericho Reach. The Chapter currently maintains a stronghold within a nearby system for each vital access point of the Jericho-Maw Warp Gate.
Angels of Rebirth Pict-File Unavailable The Angels of Rebirth are something of an unusual chapter, even among the Successors of the Blood Angels. Borrowing many Ideas from the Raven Guard their tactics, chapter beliefs and mannerisms tend to distance them from many other loyalist chapters. Despite their close ties to both the Blood Angels and the Raven Guard they tend to distance themselves from other successor chapters, with the exception of the Lamenters, viewing them as having deviated from the original vision of the Emperor and Sanguinius.
Angels of Sorrow Pict-File Unavailable The Angels of Sorrow are a chapter of space marines specialising in covert operations and causing chaos behind enemy lines and flood enemy commanders with crushing numbers of reports in such a short period of time that even the most experience commander finds it impossible to make an informed decision in time. Recruited solely from the survivors of the sort of tragedies that are all too common in the 41st millennium. New recruits are taught how to use the trauma they have experienced to make them more effective fighters, willing to give their lives in a heartbeat to protect the imperium and it's citizens, as it is all they have left to give.
Angels of the Grail Pict-File Unavailable The Angels of the Grail are a loyalist non-Codex compliant successor Chapter of the Blood Angels of an unknown founding based upon the irradiated Death World of Eden. They are renowned for their overwhelming shock assault actions at both dawn and dusk along with their peerless swordsmanship abilities. They are also famed artisans who take great pride in their craftsmanship in both weapons and art. The Chapter's leaders are known for their charisma and inspire the worship of mortals by their very presence, for they are gifted with the iconic beauty associated with the sons of Sanguinius. Yet, under the nobility, their finery, and their beauty, the Angels of the Grail hide a terrible secret from the Imperium, the genetic curse of their father which haunts them every second of every day they live.
Astral Templars Pict-File Unavailable The Astral Templars are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter and a Third Founding Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists Legion. The Astral Templars until recently was a Chapter on the edge of extinction, its fortress-monastery destroyed and its numbers all but annihilated when the Necrons of the Maynarkh Dynasty descended on the  Orpheus Sector of Segmentum Tempestus and its Chapter homeworld of Hydroghast in 991.M41. Yet the Astral Templars fought on, bearing the blows of a cruel fate with stoicism that has become legend across the Imperium.
Azure Tridents Pict-File Unavailable The Azure Tridents are a 25th Founding Chapter, formed in Late M40 during the 25th Founding from Ultramarine Gene Stock. Primarily formed to guard the borders of the Caradryad Sector in the Segemntum Tempestus, their home is the ocean world of Pelagos.

Battle Born Pict-File Unavailable The Battle Born were a formerly Loyalist Successor Chapter of the venerable White Scars, created during the 8th Founding. They were held in high regard by their fellow White Scar's successors and feared by both traitors and xenos alike. The Battle Born were known for their savagery as many of the Sons of Khan are, but it was the Chapter's reputation for their infamous battle rage that made them truly famous. But eventually, their battle-lust overwhelmed them, and they became willing followers of the Blood God Khorne. Renaming themselves the Hellhounds, this ferocious pack of butchers and madmen now burn whole worlds for no greater reason than to sew death and madness in the name of their patron lord. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Black Raptors Pict-File Unavailable The Black Raptors are a Codex-compliant Loyalist Space Marine Chapter founded in M33 during an Unknown Founding from the lineage of the stoic Imperial Fists. They were created as part of a strategic prognostication to liberate the Death World of Espada-Delta against Tau Forces. Recently, this Chapter now faces near extinction after their first battle against Hive Fleet Arachnid on the War World of Hardok in Ultima Segmentum. They suffered heavy casualties and their Chapter was reduced to only 400 battle-brother. The Black Raptors are the only Chapter that lacks Tactical Squads, having them lost in their first mission. Their Assault Marines have stepped up to fill in the roles of a regular Tactical Marine, and is one of the few Chapters that utilize Ground Assault Marines. In their second mission, the Chapter was able to liberate the Death World of Espada-Delta. They were given direct rule over the planet and established their fortress-monastery.
Black Seraphs Pict-File Unavailable The Black Seraphs are a loyal Space Marine Chapter. They are descendants of the Blood Angels founded in the 36th Millennium. The are known for their deep strike tactics, where they deploy large amounts of Space Marines directly behind enemy lines in Drop Pods.
Black Thorns Pict-File Unavailable The Black Thorns are 10th Founding chapter descended from the Iron Hands. This battle- hardened Chapter's first duty as a chapter was watching over the volatile Infernus Sector, known for it's proximity to a Minor Warp rift known as the Fracture. The High Lords of Terra feared that the Fracture would one day serve as a gateway for the forces of Chaos, and their fears were justified when the Fracture unleashed a horde of Daemons upon the Black Thorns' homeworld of Lorem. The young chapter barely managed to defeat the Daemons, loosing more than three quarters of it's forces in the process. But from that day forward, the Black Thorns became known as the heartless warriors they are now, believing that the cold, hard strength of steel shall always triumph over the Ruinous Powers.
Blades of the Praetorian Pict-File Unavailable The Blades of the Praetorian are a successor chapter of the Imperial Fists, founded on the feudal world of Agrenos to defend the nearby systems from orks and other foul xenos. Following the opening of the Great Rift, they have seen more action against the forces of Chaos. The introduction of this new threat has left them spread rather thin between combating the spread of an ork Waaagghh! towards their homeworld and keeping chaos at bay.
Blazing Claws
BlazingClawsBadge
The Blazing Claws are a Successor Chapter of the stalwart and stoic Iron Hands Chapter. They were created during the 4th Founding sometime in the latter years of the fifth century or early century, following the devastating War of the Beast which had utterly devastated the Adeptus Astartes. They are known for being highly skilled at fighting xenos, with many members having been called to serve a Vigil with the Deathwatch.
Blood Shields Pict-File Unavailable The Blood Shields are a young loyalist Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes operating in the Ghoul Stars. Created during the 25th founding as a support measure to conquer and defend the Anteras and its neighbouring Systems from the boarding Orkish empires.
Blood Buzzards Pict-File Unavailable The Blood Buzzards are a small fleet based chapter founded during the 24th Founding in M39. They are a relatively small Chapter rarely able to maintain the 1,000 battle brothers mandated by the Codex Astartes. This is due in part to the fact that they don't have a specific planet or route were they recruit new Battle brothers. Instead they have a system where other chapters will allow them to recruit from their home worlds often in exchange for artifacts of theirs that the Buzzards have recovered in their travels. The Buzzards actively seek out these artifacts going to great lengths to retrieve them so they may ether be added to their armory or traded to other chapters for weapons, equipment or other vital supplies.
Blood Eagles Pict-File Unavailable The Blood Eagles are a Space Marine Chapter whose progenitor and Founding are unknown to the Imperium. In truth the Blood Eagles are among those shadowy Chapters that were created during the infamous 13th Founding, the so-called "Dark Founding". They are also well hated traitors within the Imperium as the Chapter turned upon the Imperium and embraced the Ruinous Powers as a Chaos Warband, or so it would seem. In truth the Chapter feigned betrayal of the Imperium at the behest of certain parties in the Inquisition, who remain the Chapter's only contact and connection to the Imperium that they secretly serve. In its guise as a Warband of the Dark Gods the Blood Eagles Chapter has gained a fell reputation amongst both the followers of the Dark Gods and the Imperium.

(Excommunicate Traitoris)

Blood Hammers Pict-File Unavailable The Blood Hammers are a Codex-compliant Chapter that hail from the proud and noble blood of Sanguinius. Created during the 10th during the mid-35th Millennium, from their conception the Blood Hammers have been afflicted by the Red Thirst heavily, but strangely they do not seem to suffer as greatly from the Black Rage as many of their brothers do. The most brothers that have ever suffered from the Rage at one time was five. However, the Thirst affects them more than many others, so much so that they have incorporated the Thirst into their tactics as they know that many will suffer from it.
Blood Rangers Pict-File Unavailable The Blood Rangers are a loyalist Space Marines Chapter of unknown origins created during the 14th Founding. The history of the Blood Rangers is a mystery that only the Chapter Masters and Chief Librarians know of. The loss of the chapter's 3rd Company, their Chapter Master, their Chief Librarian, and a large portion of their knowledge has devastated the Chapter greatly. But the Blood Rangers have endured and are now a fleet-based Chapter, but they still have not yet fully replenished the ranks of the 3rd Company. Amongst one of their more notable campaigns is when they deployed in their entirety to take part in the 13th Black Crusade.
Blood Reapers Pict-File Unavailable The Blood Reapers are a mysterious Chapter of uncertain lineage supposedly created during the 13th 'Dark' Founding. Little is known of this elusive Chapter in official Imeprial records. When they have appeared, they usually only do so in smaller, mobile strike groups. If rumours are to be believed, the Blood Reapers have taken part in some of the most famous campaigns throughout the last few millennia, including - almost all of the Black Crusades and possibly the Badab War, the Damocles Gulf Crusade and the wars on Armageddon.
Blood Wights
20160418 150100-1
The Blood Wights are a loyalist Space Marine chapter, successors of Sanguinius and Blood Angels. Allegedly created in M33 as one of the chapters of the 5th Founding. Blood Wights are known for their divergent beliefs, specifically their unusual reverence for a spirit known as Lady Forlorn, whom the chapter believes to be the True Bride of the Emperor and their guide. Despite their exotic beliefs, Blood Wights proved to be steadfast allies and faithful servants of the God Emperor throughout the millennia.
Bronze Lions Pict-File Unavailable The Bronze Lions are an embattled Space Marine Chapter located within the quarantined Gallican Sector. Created using the Gene-seed of the Silver Lions during the 23rd Founding, the Chapter has an extremely colored history. Their parent Chapter the Silver Lions fell to Chaos, eventually becoming the loathed Sons of the Perverter. This has been a source of shame for the Bronze Lions. On the other hand the Bronze Lions have become renowned for their fortitude and perseverance. since the quarantine was instituted over a millennia ago the Gallican Sector has been under threat with increasing frequency, and all during this time the Bronze Lions fought to defend the Sector without rest, and it could be said that their efforts are one of the reasons that the Gallican Sector has yet to collapse.
Bronze Vipers Pict-File Unavailable The Bronze Vipers are a Successor Chapter of the venerable Blood Angels, created during the 8th Founding. They were tasked to patrol the boarders of Zoragon space, although they also fought Aeldari forces as well. As a result they established tactics revolved around xenos hunting. In 204.M39, Craftworld Nirmia destroyed most of the Chapter. As the Bronze Vipers were trying to recover from their losses, the Zoragons launched a follow-up attack that annihilated the rest of the Chapter. Ever since their inception, the Bronze Vipers frequent mutations were a constant thorn in their side, making them very prone to the Red Thirst. This resulted in there being a large number of infected battle-brothers in the ranks of the Death Company. Due to the severity of their genetic curse, and their constant xenocide campaigns, the Bronze Vipers as a whole were rarely at full strength.
Brutalizers Pict-File Unavailable The Brutalizers are a dreaded band of renegade Astartes that have marauded the Imperiums space lanes ever since their excommunication during the Nova Terra Interregnum. They are a brutal band of self-serving pirates, caring only for their own survival and wealth. Though they have not yet fallen to the temptations to Chaos and allow no taint of mutation within their own ranks, they have fought alongside the minions of the Archenemy for paltry coin and weapons. However, they have also aided various other powerful and unscrupulous men who call themselves loyal to the Emperor for enough coin as well.

(Excommunicate Traitoris)

Bullfrogs Pict-File Unavailable The Bullfrogs are a Space Marine Chapter succeeding from the Salamanders created during the 21st "Cursed" Founding. They were founded in order to support the Imperial forces in the Celestonic Sector. However, they were afflicted with a mutation due to a mishap caused by Magos Preu. This mutation, called "the Toadstool Curse", afflicts the Betcher's Gland, causing it to secrete toxins over the Astrates' skin, creating a film of acidic mucous. As a result, they have modified their armor to resist corrosion that could inadvertently be caused by the mucous. The toxic mucous slowly eats away at their skin, but because they are Astrates this skin regenerates at a matching pace, which means that the Bullfrogs are stuck in a state of constant degradation and reparation. These Space Marines practically reek of death and decay, which had affected their reputation, causing the local Imperial populace to distrust and avoid them.

Castellan Guard
Castellan Guard Tactical Marine
The Castellan Guard are a Codex Astartes-compliant Successor Chapter of the venerable Ultramarines, created during the 16th Founding sometime during the latter 35th Millennium. Their brotherhood has a long and illustrious history as stalwart protectors of humanity, specializing in all forms of defensive warfare. Recent setbacks however have stained the honor and trust of their Chapter. In a terrible incident on their own homeworld, the Chapter's Chief Librarian secretly had turned to Chaos, along with almost half of the Chapter. In a bloody civil war, the traitors were driven off, but the Castellan Guard had lost many of their loyal brothers and much of their supplies and weaponry. Now, they struggle to rebuild from their losses, and tirelessly hunt their traitor brethren, seeing that their deaths are the only way for the Chapter to redeem itself.
Caustic Reach Pict-File Unavailable The Caustic Reach are a small Adeptus Astartes Chapter that at one time operated out of their former stronghold (Ghuld) on the death world Tyran residing in the Eastern Fringe. They were created during the 21st Founding, the so-called 'Cursed Founding', from existing (presumed Dark Angels) gene-seed which was modified to counteract the high potency of Tyranid poisons and toxins these foul xenos commonly employed. Given the gene-seed the scientists managed to create a genetic resistance to the Tyranid poisons and toxins via unprecedented mutation which causes an overproduction of toxins and poisons within these Astartes bodies, which are then transferred to the Betcher's glands within their mouths, causing them to 'drool' these poisons uncontrollably. This Chapter currently stands at approximately 350 Astartes, their forces severely depleted at the hands of Hive Fleet Kraken, though their exact numbers remain uncertain.
Celestial Hawks
Celestial Hawks Elder Brother
The Celestial Hawks are an Imperial Fists Successor Chapter created during the 4th Founding. They are based primarily in the Ultima Segmentum. The Celestial Hawks are known to be masters of rapid-assault warfare. They prefer ranged combat, but not static line combat as many use, but rather flowing and highly mobile lines. They place a high amount of respect on the art of shooting as they believe it to be the purest kind of warfare, though they still use melee units. The Hawks are not Codex Astartes-compliant and differ greatly to the tome of Gulliman as they hate him and his sons.
Charnel Warhawks Pict-File Unavailable The Charnel Warhawks are a newly founded fleet-based loyalist chapter of Primaris Space Marines. Their specialty is rooting out cults, be them Chaos, Genestealer or some other variant. This has led to close ties with the Ordo Hereticus, who value their ability to protect mankind from itself. Given the urban locale of many cults, the Charnel Warhawks have become brutally efficient at urban warfare. This has gradually grown to resemble guerrilla tactics, preferring to deploy a multitude of small, autonomous units each with specific objectives, not dissimilar to Deathwatch kill-teams.
Children of the Anvil Pict-File Unavailable The Children of the Anvil are a Chapter that hails from the brutal legacy of the Iron hands. Allegedly created during the 5th Founding, this Chapter excludes all that is to be expected of Sons of the Gorgon. Relentless, cold, and above all efficient to a fault, the Children of the Anvil have left world after world a bombed out wasteland in their endless war against the Enemies of Man. Regularly patrolling the northernmost borders of the Exile Sector, the Children of the Anvil's fiercely independent Clan Companies regularly vanish altogether from the Imperium for centuries at a time, always returning however with trophies of war and new worlds for the Imperium to colonize, liberated in fire from the clutches of vile xenos overlords and heathen bands of the Lost and Damned.
Chronal Guardians Pict-File Unavailable The Chronal Guardians are a mysterious Adeptus Astartes Chapter that have been observed on multiple battlefields across multiple time periods. Unknown to the rest of the Imperium the Chronal Guardians, in fact, fight against temporal threats to humanity. Very little is known about this Chapter, as most of the files the Inquisition has on them are sealed away under the sigil of the Ordo Chronos. Within these sealed files, are multiple accounts of Imperial Guardsmen, Naval Officers, civilians and others that have come in contact within these Astartes, and then, suddenly, cannot recall ever having known them.
Cobalt Angels Pict-File Unavailable The Cobalt Angels are a Successor Chapter of the vaunted Dark Angels, created during the mysterious 13th Founding, the so-called 'Dark Founding'. They were created in order to fight the ever-present Chaos threat surrounding the Eye of Terror. Unusually, despite being a successor of the famed Dark Angels, the Cobalt Angels do not count themselves among the 'Unforgiven'. This sets them apart from a majority of other Dark Angels successors, and precludes them from engaging in the galaxy-wide hunt for the 'Fallen'. This is reinforced by the fact that the Cobalt Angels have never been seen to flee the battlefield for little reason, as their progenitors have done so many times.
Cobra Warriors Pict-File Unavailable The Cobra Warriors are a space marine chapter descendant from the lineage of the Iron Hands and founded during the 24th founding, M39. The chapter is focused on combating xenos threats, and have been so ever since their homeworld was destroyed at the dawn of M40 by an Ork Waaagh!
Corvus Umbra Pict-File Unavailable The Corvus Umbra are a Space Marine chapter of the Raven Guard, who were founded in the 14th Founding, from the lineage of the Raven Guard. They are horrendously under-strength, barely fielding three companies after the many wars and treasons that have befallen their ranks. Currently led by Chapter Master Insus, the Corvus Umbra lead a thankless existence.
Crested Serpents
Crested serpents colour shceme
The Crested Serpents are a Loyalist Successor Chapter created from unknown gene-stock during the 19th Founding sometime during the 36th Millennium. Though many suspect that they are descended from either Ultramarines or Salamaners lineage, though neither have been confirmed. This Chapter specialises in ambush tactics, are are most deadly when fighting in jungle environments. The Crested Serpents organise themselves strictly in accordance with the dictates of the Codex Astartes. But despite their formal structure, the Chapter has a surprisingly lenient attitude towards the use of animals in warfare.
Crimson Crusaders
Spacemarine Grunt
The Crimson Crusaders claim to have risen from the ashes of the Crimson Axes, a Successor Chapter of the Executioners, who were lost circa 092.M39 under unknown circumstances. The Crimson Crusaders maintain that the Black Templars played an essential role in their efforts to rebuild and have professed to owe their cousins an eternal debt of gratitude. The Black Templars neither confirm nor deny their involvement.
Crimson Dragoons
Crimson Dragoon 2
The Crimson Dragoons are a Space Marine Chapter of the 25th Founding descending from the Imperial Fists. Their capabilities with all forms of ranged weaponry can only be matched by their faith in the God-Emperor. Shielded by faith and armed with zeal, they strike down anyone who would dare oppose the Holiness of the one true ruler of Mankind.
Crimson Lords Pict-File Unavailable The Crimson Lords are newly Founded fleet-based loyalist chapter created during the recent Ultima Founding from the vaunted Bloods Angels and comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines. Their specialty for orbital drops and bombardments across entire cities to deploy using a fast-paced assault to crush and overwhelm targets with superior lordship over the battlefield.
Crimson Scorpions Pict-File Unavailable The Crimson Scorpions are a Space Marine Chapter created during an unknown Founding, and whose gene-seed was derived from the brutal and blood-handed Royal Scorpions Chapter, although they are not acknowledged by their progenitors. This is mainly due to the Crimsons Scorpions' unique belief that the machine is stronger than the flesh, and that they will regularly augment themselves through the use of extensive bionic modifications. The reason they have done this, was in an effort to slay the twin-curses of the Blood Angels' gene-seed. This worked relatively well for stemming the effects of the Red Thirst, as it is now extremely rare for one of their Astartes to succumb to this genetic curse. However, the use of such extended bionic modification has also had unforeseen consequences and now the Black Rage runs more rampant within their Chapter's ranks. Only time will tell, whether or not the Crimsons Scorpions will be undone by this genetic curse, as other younger Blood Angels' Successor Chapters have been.
Crimson Skulls Pict-File Unavailable The Crimson Skulls are a Space Marine Chapter of an unknown founding and from an unknown gene-seed, led by their Chapter Master known only as the "Forgotten Father".
Crimson Thunder The Crimson Thunder are a crusading Chapter created during an unknown Founding and of unknown origin. They prefer keeping things up close and personal, therefore this Chapter place heavy emphasis on hand-to-hand combat.
Crusade Eternal Pict-File Unavailable The Crusade Eternal were a formerly Loyalist Successor Chapter borne of the Black Templars, created during the 21st ('Cursed') Founding. The newly created Chapter was intended to be mankind's tireless protectors, warriors who needed no respite nor rest from war and held no mercy in their hearts. They were meant to be the Emperor's own onslaught, taking the fight to the enemies of man as opposed to fending them off from Imperial territory. But such a purpose corrupted them, their gene-seed tainted by the fumbling hands of the Mechanicus, which resulted in the Crusade Eternal developing an insatiable appetite for conflict and death. Eventually, their perverse pleasure for destruction and slaughter saw them become unwitting minions of the Chaos Gods, as the continue their vile crusade across the stars. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Crusaders of Retribution Pict-File Unavailable Created following the disastrous events of the War of the Beast that occurred in 546.M32, the Crusaders of Retribution were created from the hardy gene-stock of the White Scars. Their primary mission - to fight against the greenskin menace and help destroy WAAAGH!s during their infancy, before they become a sector-wide threat by keeping the Ork population under control in the Segmentum Ultima.

Death Angels
Death Angel Space Marine
The Death Angels are a Successor Chapter of the venerable Blood Angels Space Marine Chapter. They were created during the 5th Founding sometime during the early centuries of M33. These Scions of Sanguinius were created at the express order of the High Lords of Terra in order to counter encroaching Forces of Chaos within the Tenadain Sector. Several times, throughout their long, glorious history, the Death Angels have suffered catastrophic losses. Feared dead, they've always managed to come back from the brink of annihilation several decades, or even centuries later, after their supposed loss. The Death Angels tend to display a violent savage mien in battle, and have garnered a reputation as a bellicose and bloody-handed Chapter. It is rumoured that they continue to reign down terrible destruction, wrought against friends and foes alike, yet the Death Angels still continue to faithfully serve the Emperor and their Primarch Sanguinius, despite their inherited genetic afflictions.
Death Scythes Pict-File Unavailable The Death Scythes are a Loyalist, non-Codex Astartes compliant Space Marine Chapter founded during the Age of Apostasy sometime during the 36th Millennium. Little trace of their founding Chapter remains, and since the loss of their first fortress-monastery, they no longer know who they were descended from. They operate from beyond the galactic plane, relying on a fleet of highly mobile strike cruisers and battle barges to reach their targets. Their brutal form of mechanized combat was developed over centuries of fighting on their homeworld, Sacrata Regionis.
Desert Griffons Pict-File Unavailable The Desert Griffons are a Successor Chapter of the venerable Ultramarines, created during the 25th Founding. Originally, they were created to combat the ever-growing Chaos threat gathering near the Eye of Terror - specifically to combat the Chaos Warband known as the Berserkers of Arnkorn. However, in 878.M41, when Zoragon forces began to be amassed by T'eyucion the Older, they were reassigned near Zoragon-held space. They are seen as filling in the role previously filled by the now-extinct Bronze Vipers.
Devout Vanguards Pict-File Unavailable The Devout Vanguards are a rare Black Templars Successor Chapter created during the 7th Founding. Since their inception, they have fought in some of the Imperium's most brutal wars to date. They are perfect shock troops, often their mission involves being dropped behind enemy lines to secure a position of strategic importance or to make and hold a bastion for Imperial reinforcements.
Disciples of Lydia Pict-File Unavailable The Disciples of Lydia are an old and proud Space Marine Chapter created during the 8th Founding in M34 from the stalwart Imperial Fists. Based in the Lydia System, their history is long and complex, and closely intertwined with the history of the Lydia System itself. They are renowned for showing an almost territorial devotion to the people of the Lydia System, interrogating and inspecting any Imperial vessels that pass through there, which has in the past caused friction with other Imperial institutions. However, the suspicion with which they regard outsiders from the Imperium is magnified a thousandfold when they encounter non-human vessels, and any xenos coming near the Lydia System can expect to be engaged on sight without warning.
Disfavoured Sons Pict-File Unavailable The Disfavoured Sons is a Codex-compliant Loyalist Chapter of Space Marines and a 10th Founding Successor Chapter of the stoic Imperial Fists. Founded originally as the Hammer Bearers, the chapter chose to side against the Imperium at some point during the Nova Terra Interregnum, believing that the High Lords of Terra and the Ecclessiarchy were too irresponsible in exercising their power over the Imperium and had grown too powerful. After the Imperial Fists subjugated the wayward chapter and reintegrated them back into the Imperium by force, the disgraced Chapter voluntarily stripped themselves of their name and surrendered their chapter relics. Following this, the chapter was renamed as the Disfavoured Sons and sent on a five century-long crusade to prove their loyalty to the Emperor of Mankind.
Doom Falcons Pict-File Unavailable The Doom Falcons are a Codex-compliant Successor Chapter of the stoic Imperial Fist and are presumably created during the 11th or 12th Founding.
Doom Ravens Pict-File Unavailable The Doom Ravens were founded as part of the 10th founding in mid-M35. At some point in time the records of their Founding chapter have been lost. Some scholars have speculated that they are descended from the Salamanders, however they do not claim them as such, and there is little evidence aside from similar combat techniques and treatment of Imperial citizens.
Doom Wardens Pict-File Unavailable The Doom Wardens are a Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes. They were formerly a space-bound Chapter known as the Iron Templars. The history of this Chapter is ancient and steeped in dark secrets, and forbidden lore. Their Founding is unknown, but is believed to be one of the earlier Foundings after the Horus Heresy. Whatever documentation that was made of their early history was either lost or destroyed. Whatever their origins, they have long been watched by the Inquisition. Members of the Bellerophon Dynasty of the Ordo Hereticus have always had a presence within the Chapter. Whatever reasons these iron-faced Inquisitors have to be so ingrained within this Chapter can only mean whatever the secret that these Astartes hold, it is a grim and dark secret indeed.
Draconite Lords Pict-File Unavailable The Draconite Lords are a loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding sometime during the 38th Millennium from unknown genetic lineage. A force of errant crusaders, they travelled the galaxy in search of the enemies of the Emperor, especially those forces that follow the Ruinous Powers. They were eventually lost in a ferocious warp storm in late M39.
Drake Bloods Pict-File Unavailable The Drake Bloods are a newly created, Codex-compliant Chapter. They were the youngest chapter that aided in the defence of the Widow Prime Sector. It is said the High Lords of Terra created the chapter to aid the embattled worlds after the destruction of no less than three Space Marine chapters following the disastrous Abruptia Crusade. Rumours abound that the Drake Bloods were created from the gene-seed of the Salamanders Chapter and that they were founded with the aid of their kin. This Chapter is known for their deep respect of the Imperial Guard and all those who fight for the Imperium.
Dread Echoes Pict-File Unavailable The Dread Echoes are a Raven Guard Successor Chapter from the 21st Founding. Like all of the Chapters from this founding, the Echoes suffered from the Mechanicus' attempts to improve their gene-seed stock. The Chapter's main gene-seed flaw is that it rends it's host completely blind, while increasing their hearing far beyond even the Astartes norm. The chapter has adapted around these flaws, such as removing any image displays from their armour and equipment in favour of noise-based ones. The marines use echolocation to navigate, and have even developed a method of communication called Echo-Speak, based on noise pitches and differing sounds. The chapter specialises in stealth and psychological warfare.
Dream Stalkers Pict-File Unavailable The Dream Stalkers are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter and a 26th Founding Successor Chapter of the Doom Eagles, with close ties to the Adeptus Arbites. While they do share their progenitor's morbid nature, the Dream Stalker Astartes do not accept their eventual death with grim fatalism. Instead, they strive to become nightmares incarnate that relentlessly haunt the existence of those who would dare oppose the Imperium. The Astartes of the Chapter do not adhere closely to the Codex Astartes, however, they do respect and honour the Codex Astartes as the work of their Primarch.
Dusk Raptors
Dusk Raptor Assault
The Dusk Raptors are a Successor Chapter created during the 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding. They hail from the lightless worlds of Cimmeria. Like their progenitors, they specialise in night-fighting and guerrilla warfare.
Dusk Ravens Pict-File Unavailable The Dusk Ravens are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter, originally of the 25th Founding, created as a successor chapter to the Raven Guard. They are best known for their skills in stealth and recon, as well as their specialty in infantry-based aerial assaults and ambushes. They are also well known for their failings. Their gene-seed has a lethal deficiency, essentially making some neophytes die when first interfacing with power armor. The frequency of this deficiency has increased overtime, and dramatically over the course of the Noctis Aeterna. For all intents and purposes, the Dusk Ravens were considered to be a doomed chapter, and they stopped recruitment just before the Fall of Cadia. Newly elected Raven Lord Krien decided to redirect the future of the chapter. Krien requested a major influx of Primaris Marines, hoping to instill the culture of the Dusk Ravens into these Marines before the chapter dies out. A large reorganization of the chapter followed, with the majority of non-primaris ravens moved to the oversized 2nd Company. Many of the Chapter's venerable memebers do not agree with the decision to integrate the Primaris, and the Dusk Ravens are very much a Chapter divided.
Dust Lords
Dust Lords Captain-0
The Dust Lords are a Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding. They are simultaneously a renegade chapter of Space Marines and Chaos Space Marine warband. During their time serving the Emperor they were known, much like their parent chapter, for their ambush tactics and proficiency in the use of Jump Packs. Now they have been declared Excommunicate Traitoris by order of the Ordo Hereticus for reasons the Inquisition are not willing to openly disclose. Most assume they are just another chapter gone rogue, but the truth is far more complex. Sometime in the near future the Dust Lords, now traitors, entered the warp to be spat out not only before they entered (a rare but entirely possible phenomenon) (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Dawn Chasers Pict-File Unavailable The Dawn Chasers are sons of Rogal Dorn, created during the third founding. Known as Lawkeepers in some parts of the Imperium, they dogmatically follow the Imperial Creed, not for its religious value but for its value as a uniting set of laws that bind humanity together, the last living monument to the Emperor's will. This faith in the Imperial Creed has earned them many allies within their brothers, the Black Templars, and amongst the faithful within the Inquisition. They are specialists in planetary compliance and subversive warfare, most often operating in small teams in order to retake human worlds from rebellious governors, chaos conquests, or xeno occupation. They see themselves as the ones charged with bringing order to a chaotic galaxy, and will rarely lift a finger to help in a fight outside Imperial territory, focused mainly on protecting what the Imperium has or retaking what they have lost. They most often operate in small strike squads, three or four squads usually being enough to conquer a world, but when the full chapter mobilises, it is truly a sight to behold.
Death Wyrms Pict-File Unavailable The Death Wyrms are a fleet-based non-Codex compliant chapter of Raven Guard Stock. They are currently patroling the Ultima Segmentum aboard their flag ship The Devourer. The Death Wyrms excel at tunnel warfare, claustrophobic environment warfare and urban warfare. Due to this doctrine, the Death Wyrms have a less than average amount of vehicles in their arsonal, and  the chapters marines are more brooding than the average marine. The chapters marines are likely to replace limbs with bionics to improve combat effectiveness. The Death Wyrms is often employed by the inquisition to root out and exterminate cult activities on suspected imperial worlds, or to explore ancient Xenos ruins and destroy any found relics.
Depth Hunters Pict-File Unavailable The Depth Hunters are a non Codex-compliant Loyalist Space Marine Chapter who’s origins have largely remained the subject of speculation, though it is thought by some that they may be a White Scars Successor Chapter. All that is known is that the Chapter was initially created to help maintain order in the Segmentum Pacificus in the wake of the Nova Terra Interregnum and ensure such an event could never take place again.
Desolators Pict-File Unavailable The Desolators are a Loyalist Space Marine chapter within the Segmentum Pacificus, in the region know as Veiled Region, The Desolators are a Imperial Fist descendent chapter and seem to obsess over the rumours of Imperial Fist artefacts and relics even going so far enough to have blows with other Imperial organisations. The chapter seems content to assist Imperial forces with defensive operations either by planting themselves in the areas with the most intense of the fighting or they go to deal with the enemy head on.
Dominators Pict-File Unavailable An ill-fated Chapter traveling across the galaxy, the Dominators are a tragic example among the ranks of the Astartes. Their heavily modified gene-seed leads to a steady decline in mental capabilities with progressing age in each Battle Brother and as a consequence, they have directed themselves to the simple but brutal field of sieges. Of unknown lineage and founding, they counter their dwindling numbers with a large number of Dreadnoughts and close relations to Imperial commanders.

Eagles of the Void Pict-File Unavailable The Eagles of the Void are a now-extinct loyalist Space Marine Chapter created from Ultramarines' lineage during an Unknown Founding. They were known for specialising in aerial-based combat. While well-versed in standard Astartes tactics they place an extra emphasis on air superiority. As the doomed Chapter was a successor of the Ultramarines they were largely Codex Astartes-compliant, divided into ten companies of one hundred battle brothers. But they deviated from the Codex in one significant way - they possessed a large number of Stormhawk Interceptors but the exact number is unknown.
Eclipse Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Eclipse Knights are a loyalist Space Marine Chapter created from Raven Guard gene-stock during the 10th Founding. They are an imperfectly Codex Astartes-compliant chapter. The few whom have witnessed the Eclipse Knights in battle have spoken tales of thoroughly mysterious, honor-driven bands of five to ten marines, or even lone warriors, stalking battlefields with a deathly grace and utmost concentration on the task at hand.
Emerald Vanguard Pict-File Unavailable The Emerald Vanguard are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created from the lineage of the heroic Blood Angels during the 20th Founding. They were originally created to help bolster a region of the galaxy plagued by Dark Aeldari tyranny. A fleet-based Chapter, the Emerald Vanguard are known for their heavy reliance on close-combat and eagerness to meet the enemy head-on.
Emperor's Basilisks Pict-File Unavailable The Emperor's Basilisks are a formerly loyalist Space Marine Chapter of Unknown Founding and origin, though they are presumed to have been created during the 13th ('Dark') Founding. While at first the Emperor's Basilisks had a rather heroic history, their fate was ultimately sealed within their own flesh and blood, as the chapter was known to be prone to psychic mutations within their ranks. The only known survivors of the now purged Chapter are Amanu Ensis and Captain Levigan of the Second Company, alongside less than forty battle-brothers under Levigan's command. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Emperor's Chosen
Emperor's Chosen base scheme
The Emperor's Chosen are a 3rd Founding Chapter of Imperial Fists lineage. They have a proud history and indulge in it and are known to be extremely proud of their heritage. The Emperor's Chosen are known to also have many exchange programs with their fellow Battle-Brothers who also share Dorn's genetic legacy, even though their own comes from a Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists. In their minds, they have no doubt that their gene-seed comes directly from the lineage of the Imperial Fists, as their gene-seed suffers the same flaws as their own.
Emperor's Own, The
Emperor's Own
The Emperor's Own are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding and are of uncertain origin. They were first listed in official Imperial records in early M36, upon their arrival in Sector Occident Prime, long before the opening of the twin warp storms, known as the Hellgates. Based on the world of Victrix Imperator, the Emperor's Own primarily concern themselves with the defence of the sector form periodic attacks from Ork WAAAGH!s launched from Calverna, and as such, are not a part of the Hell Warders Chapters.
Emperor's Sentinels Pict-File Unavailable The Emperors Sentinels are a 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding loyalist Space Marine Chapter of Ultramarines descent. They were originally assigned to defend the Janus Sub-Sector from Ork attacks due to the sector's history of constant xenos raids. Since their inception this Chapter has gone on to win many victories in the Emperor's name and have become particularly adept at combating xenos forces.
Equalizers
Equalizers chapter sniper by synysterradec-d6a0htt
The Equalizers are a 14th Founding Successor Chapter of Ultramarine stock. They were created to reclaim the long lost Leijon Sector, an area of space at the fringes of the Ultima Segmentum. The Leijon Sector had been ravaged by xenos pirates since the start of the Long Night, and the Equalizers would spend their first two centuries of existence battling to clean it of the alien filth that had polluted it. Since the day they claimed the ruined hive world of Equius Prime as their homeworld and founded their Fortress-Monastery, they have maintained their vigil at the edge of the Imperium.
Eternal Legion
Eternal Legion Emblem
The Eternal Legion is a Chapter that was supposedly created during the 13th ('Dark') Founding. Records indicate they use tactics similar to the Imperial Fists, but also exhibit a technological affinity as seen by the Iron Hands. As to which lineage they truly belong to, none can say.
Exalted Paladins Pict-File Unavailable The Exalted Paladins are a Space Marine chapter which are a Successor Chapter to the Iron-bound Thanes (before the World Burning and the renaming to Ashen Thanes) and are descended from an unknown Primarch. They are renowned throughout the Imperium for their fanatical zeal towards worshiping the Emperor and are one of the few Chapters to go from being fleet-based to having a home world.
Emperor's Deliverance Pict-File Unavailable The Emperor's Deliverance is a loyal Space Marine chapter comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines. Created with the gene-seed of the stoic Rogal Dorn, created during the Ultima Founding of 999.M41. When the Astartes of Emperor's Deliverance enter a system to bring back into compliance they offer one days time to repent or hell will rain down upon them, for they deploy en mass and few survive.

Feudal Vindicators Pict-File Unavailable The Feudal Vindicators are an unacknowledged Salamanders Successor Chapter, created during the 26th Founding. Upon their creation they were placed under the command of their Chapter-Master Damaeus Kalin who would soon lead them to the great battlefields of Ulferth and onwards towards their eventual revolt against the Imperium. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Forsaken Legion Pict-File Unavailable The Forsaken Legion is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of Unknown Founding and unknown origins. Created sometime during the 32nd Millennium. Some Imperial scholars speculate that the Forsaken Legion origins lie to the era of the Great Scouring, when the Imperium launched a campaign of retribution against the Traitor Legions for the misery and death they had spread across the galaxy. Shunning themselves, a battered Shattered Legion force separated themselves from the wider Imperium, to cleanse their gene-seed and seek atonement in the eyes of their Emperor. This disparate band of loyalist Legionaries eventually settled upon their own world, and slowly rebuilt themselves into a fully-functional Chapter.
Fire Fists Pict-File Unavailable The Fire Fists exist as something of an oddity; in spite of being only a few centuries old in M42, they maintain a large collection of articifer equipment and war machines that date nearly back to the Horus Heresy. Additionally, they claim no progenitors and none have claimed them. Odder still is the number of warriors who appear to be many centuries old with markings that predate the campaigns and insignia of the Fire Fists themselves. They have an obsession with the Fire Hawks and the Cursed Founding, seeking out the surviving chapters and any remnants of their passing.
Frost Wraiths
Frost wraith
The Abyss Gazers were a 21st founding chapter and, like all the others, was ill fated from the start. Among the Marines of the Abyss Gazers were those suffering from a mutation called the Affliction which caused the body temperature of the Marines to lower dramatically and cause a cryogenic liquid to pool in their lungs, allowing them to freeze enemies with a breath but leaving them vulnerable to thermal weaponry. unknown to the majority of the Chapter the Afflicted were also vulnerable to the temptations of the warp and 1 by 1 they fell into the service of the mysterious Heims, a cold entity born of the dread all beings share of the winter. In 601.M37 the afflicted attempted to seize control of the Abyss Gazers fleet but were foiled by the heroic sacrifice of the Chapter Master. Those who survived fled with what Ships they had taken into the Eye of Terror under the command of former 8th Captain Erikhas. Eventually the now traitor Frost Wraiths managed to secure a Homeworld by attacking a small Craftworld, Alinstar, with the full might of their patron behind them, killing the Aeldari by turning the once vibrant interior of the Craftworld into a frozen waste.

Gatekeepers Pict-File Unavailable The Gatekeepers are an Imperial Fists Successor Chapter created during the 4th Founding in M33. Originally known as the Golden Castellans, they were a fleet-based Chapter, with the Ramillies-class Star Fortress Incursus Defensior serving as their mobile fortress-monastery. In M36, they were stationed in the Gathalamor Sector near the 'Hellgates' - dual warp storms in the Segmentum Solar whose vicinity are uncomfortably close to Holy Terra. They would later become a part of a quintumvirate of five Space Marine Chapters, known as the Hell Warders, tasked with the defence of the Imperium against Chaos incursions from the Hellgates.
Ghost Raiders Pict-File Unavailable The Ghost Raiders are a Codex Astartes-adherent, White Scars Successor Chapter created during an Unknown Founding sometime during the 39th Millennium. They are located in the Segmentum Pacificus and their fortress-monastery is stationed on the feral world of Munsu. In war, their tactical specialities largely consist of stealth warfare, lightning assaults, and precision strikes. The Ghost Raiders are not held in esteem by other Chapters that call the White Scars their progenitors - a divide in tactical speciality, a dour attitude, strange esoteric beliefs, and an altered gene-stock serves to strain relations between the Ghost Raiders and their cousin Chapters.
Gila Monsters Pict-File Unavailable The Gila Monsters are a loyalist Codex-abiding Successor Chapter supposedly created during the 21st 'Cursed' Founding. They claim to have been produced from the gene-seed of the ever humble Salamanders. Enigmatic and mysterious, a significantly substantial amount of their history has been recorded in the strife of M41, solidifying their presence among the other Successor Chapters in the relentless quarrel against the adversaries of the Imperium of Man, with their soft-spoken acts of heroism in the aiding of Imperial citizens in the midst of combat. But a surprising lack of their deeds has ever been placed in Imperial Records, making much of their conflict hearsay or mere myth among those that hear of these gallant warriors.
Gold Templars
TemplarLieutenant
The Gold Templars are a Space Marine Successor Chapter created in the 25th Founding. The chapter is a Blood Angels successor designed to spread wide across imperial space, and is bolstered by a regiment of Guardsmen. They are known to induct members from other chapters when possible, especially from other Blood Angels successors. The Gold Templars are characterised by a more mundane affliction of the Red Thirst and Black Rage, which leads to a less spirited expression of the chapter's glory, and the chapter also develops rather weak psykers. However, the marines are trained to better repair and manage their equipment more effectively than other chapters, due to the emphasis on operating in more sparse and restricted circumstances.
Golden Legion Pict-File Unavailable The Golden Legion is a Space Marine Successor Chapter created in the 3rd Founding. Created from a section of the original Imperial Fists Legoin that split into several Chapters, the Golden Legion fights in the name of the Throne and all who serve the Throne as one of the Emperor's finest Space Marine Chapters. Founded by Sargantanas Eligron, they in reality are a ruthless Chapter with questionable motives, although on a surface level they are a shining example of the Emperor's finest. Though their actions may be suspect, no Inquisitor has had the gall to investigate one of the most powerful political and military oriented Chapters in all of the Imperium to date. The Golden Legion, although an effective Chapter in many ways, has since fallen into arrogance and hubris over the millennia.
Golden Lions
Golden Lions 3rd Company
Staunch protectors of their home Sector in Segmentum Tempestus, the Golden Lions of Terralba fight tirelessly and stubbornly, just like their founding Chapter, the Imperial Fists, and excel in the use of bolter drills and stronghold assaults. The Golden Lions are a Loyalist Codex-divergent Chapter from an Unknown Founding that have lost almost all of their past history, with only around 500 years worth of records from the point of the Konor Campaign. What was once a proud Codex Chapter has now allowed the two philosophical viewpoints of their homeworld, Terralba Majoris, to almost split the Chapter.
Golden Rams
Golden Rams
The Golden Rams are a widely unknown Successor Chapter of the Crimson Fists, created during the 22nd Founding in early M37. They primarily defend the Scillion Sector and its surrounding systems, which is located in the galactic southwest of the Segmentum Tempestus. Although they are competent as any other Adeptus Astartes Chapter, and possess quite a solid combat record, their backwater stationing and lack of well known heroes hasn't earned this Chapter much glory.
Golden Vipers
GoldenVipersMarineV2
The Golden Vipers are a 17th Founding Successor Chapter of undetermined origin. Originally, they had built their combat doctrine around causing strife and mayhem on xenos-controlled worlds. But following a mission on the outskirts of Imperial territory, they came across a treasure trove of archeotech. They quickly found they had a knack for requisitioning ancient Imperial tech and struck a deal with the Adeptus Mechanicus - in exchange for supplying the Tech-Priests with these lost wonders, they would supply the Chapter with any advanced technology first over other Chapters.
Grandmarines Pict-File Unavailable The Grandmarines are and 8th Founding Successor Chapter of the venerable Ultramarines. Their primary duties include policing the Growver Sector, located in the Ultima Segmentum. Their homeworld is the primary planet in the sector, the Fortress World of Growver. When they first discovered it, the planet was swarmed with daemons, xenos and all sorts of vile enemies of the Imperium. A great purge was held, cleansing the world of the filth that resided there. After purging the planet, the Grandmarines continued their purge of the other planets in the sector, finding multiple Chaos Sorcerers and Chaos Champions hiding in the underbellies of these worlds.
Grave Bearers Pict-File Unavailable The Grave Bearers are a Successor Chapter of the zealous Black Templars Chapter, created during an Unknown Founding and date, although they have been recorded in Imperial annals as early as the 36th Millennium. The Grave Bearers derive their name from the ritual practice of engraving the names of their fallen battle-brothers on the inside of their armor. The armor then becomes the grave of their fallen brother. The armor is eventually passed on to the next battle-brother after the initial bearer's death, thus, the new recipient bears the grave of the last owner, which will inevitably he his own. For this reason, the Grave Bearers will go to great lengths to recover a fallen brother's armor.
Guard of Testimony Pict-File Unavailable The Guard of Testimony are a Successor Chapter of the ancient Dark Angels, created during the brutal 3rd Founding, alongside other ruthless Chapter, such as the Flesh Eaters and Executioners. This chapter quickly became renowned for its brutality in war. Always devout in its outlook it has across millennia passed become one of the most reclusive and ritualistic Space Marine chapters – looking ever more inward as it deployed esoteric rites to purge the chapter of its sin, and the sins of all of the Unforgiven.
Gulf Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Gulf Knights are a small semi-Codex Astartes compliant Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding and of unknown origin. It is generally believed that they could be of Raven Guard gene-stock, though this has not been confirmed. Stationed in the Kattarn System, this ancient Chapter has undergone significant changes since their inception. Even in the face of multiple tragedies and tribulations, they managed to maintain a bright and assured manner that some take as naive optimism. In battle, they are renowned fro their matchless cunning and emphasis on the arts of strategy and tactics.
Ghosts of the Forge Pict-File Unavailable The Ghosts of the Forge are a loyalist Space Marine Chapter and Salamanders splinter chapter.  Located in the Segmentum Tempestus, the chapter is used as a decisive, and often final, strike when aiding other forces of the Imperium. Their home world planet of Rukoth is also the adopted home of the Astra Militarum force the 316th, more commonly known as the Stone Cold. Over time, their traditions and beliefs have stayed in common with the Salamanders, albeit with some small additions, most notably the Ghost Dance prior to significant battles.
Grail of the Imperium Pict-File Unavailable The Grail of the Imperium Chapter is a proud Chapter with a long if not entirely recorded history within the Imperium. They are fierce raiders of Xenos Worlds and ferocious campaigners against the forces of the Ruinous Powers. The earliest parts of their history are not known with only a few basic details from that period surviving into the 42nd Millennium, but the Chapter relentlessly searches for answers that can fill in the gaps.

Houndred True Pict-File Unavailable The Houndred True are a formerly Loyalist Space Marine Chapter presumably created during the mysterious 13th 'Dark' Founding from unknown genetic lineage. Despite their status as a Renegade Chapter, their allegiance lies in the Emperor and only Him. Their sole mission is to shed light upon the lies that the Inquisition has been feeding to the Imperium for the last millennia and to punish those foolish enough to heed its words for "truth". Each Imperial world tainted by the likes of the Inquisition is, with haste, struck by the Houndred True Space Marines and is "liberated" from the clutches of the "true traitors".

Imperial Hawks Pict-File Unavailable The Imperial Hawks are a 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding Successor Chapter of the venerable Imperial Fists. They operate in the galactic south-western regions of the Segmentum Obscurus. They mainly cross swords with renegade Imperial Guard regiments, Forces of Chaos from the Eye of Terror and Aeldari forces from Craftworlds Il-Kaithe and Ulthwé. This Chapter is also known to frequently assist loyal Imperial Guard forces in the area.
Imperial Hounds Pict-File Unavailable The Imperial Hounds are a 21st ('Cursed') Founding, roughly Codex Astartes-compliant, Space Marine Chapter. They were created with experimental gene-seed of unknown origin that was heavily modified, and may have had more gene-seed organs implanted that were crafted by the Mechanicus' Magos. Their exact linage is unknown, though most sources point to Iron Hands progenitors. They are a fanatically devoted Chapter, their loyalty to the Imperiums people and the Adeptus Mechanicus is absolute. (though the Inquisition finds their loyalty to the other Adepta lacking). They are also notably faster, stronger, more durable and aggressive than other Space Marines. The Imperial Hounds are also known to be risk takers and sub-par strategist, this was in the end the source of the Chapters near extinction.
Imperial Lances Pict-File Unavailable The Imperial Lances are a proud fleet-based 3rd Founding Codex Astartes-deviant Chapter descendant of the Imperial Fists, tasked to move throughout the Segmentums Ultima and Obscurus, assisting Imperial Forces in combating threats when possible, as well as responding to threats they identify. They are well known for their proficiency with ranged weapons and for their skill at siege warfare, skills they constantly drill into their Neophytes. The brothers of the Chapter are little spoken and often the line brothers shun any form of conversation with other Imperials. This is thought to be due to a flaw in the Chapter's gene-seed that causes them to be gloomy and rather bashful to all except other Lances. They are perhaps the only Chapter that has six companies of 120 brothers, one of 180, and no designated Veteran company. They also have more veterans than is normal amongst codex-chapters, with 140 in all the companies combined.
Imperial Sentinels Pict-File Unavailable The Imperial Sentinels are a 22nd Founding loyalist Space Marine chapter, active in the Segmentum Obscurus. A Successor Chapter of the venerable Dark Angels, the Imperial Sentinels are known for having close ties with the Inquisition, more specifically the Ordo Hereticus. The chapters association with the Inquisition is well known enough for many to regard them as little more than the Inquisition's lap dogs. Indeed the Imperial Sentinels adhere both to the teachings of the Imperial Creed and their shadowy masters. The Imperial Sentinels focus around defensive tactics, as they wish not to attack until a strong defence is built up. This means that Imperial Sentinels rarely attack first, instead preferring to defeat armies that besiege others.
Imperialists Pict-File Unavailable The Imperialists are a now-extinct, loyalist Codex-deviant Chapter created from the lineage of the ever-rigid Rogal Dorn. From their chapter home world of Sverige, with bolter and adamantium will, these dour Scions of Dorn launched numerous campaigns across several worlds in the surrounding systems, cleansing them of foul xenos taint and leaving behind naught but a crimson pool of tainted xenos blood for all to gaze upon. As a Chapter of ancient provenance, the immense measure of their valorous deeds are scattered throughout the annals of Imperial history. These records provide immense insight into the Chapter's grand scale of prominence amongst their fellow Adeptus Astartes Chapters. But eventually, they fell from the Emperor's grace and tragically plummeted into the bowels of oblivion. Following their the Chapter's destruction, their beloved Sverige was subjected to Exterminatus per the request of a lone Chaplain of the now-defunct Chapter. To this day, no one now living have borne witness to living Astartes wearing the Imperialists' infamous colours navy blue and solar gold livery.
Imperium's Wyverns Pict-File Unavailable The Imperium's Wyverns are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 25th Founding, sometime during M40. It is unknown whose genetic lineage was utilised to create this Chapter, however, due to the purity and lack of mutation within the gene-seed, many Imperila Scholars theorise that it's most likely originates from the Ultramarines. Only being a thousand years old, the Imperium's Wyverns often lack powerful ancient equipment and artifacts, relying heavily on their Techmarines and Chapter Serfs trained in manufacturing new weapons to keep their armory filled.
Incinerators Pict-File Unavailable The Incinerators are a 15th Founding, semi-Codex Astartes compliant Space Marine Chapter suspected to have originated from the Imperial Fists. The Chapter has a history of homage, betrayal, and war, but has stubbornly continued to serve the Imperium and the Emperor. Since the time of their founding, they have held a burning hatred for xenos life akin to that of a blazing furnace, and have taken it upon themselves since the time of the 40th Millennium to crusade endlessly against the alien menace.
Indomitable Golems Pict-File Unavailable The Indomitable Golems are a mostly Codex Astartes-compliant Space Marine Chapter, hailing from the proud lineage of the Imperial Fists, however this is only known due to the lack of the Betcher's Gland and Sus-an Membrane as they are of the mysterious 13th ('Dark') Founding. Short of their lineage and the Chapters famous bad luck in its early years, the Indomitable Golems are almost unknown in the annuls of Imperial history. However, they have earned quite the reputation as relentless fighters, living up to their name as stout defenders of any ground blessed by their footfalls, and as an inevitable juggernaut that hails utter annihilation to the foes of the Emperor.
Iron Avengers Pict-File Unavailable The Iron Avengers are a grim and ruthless Space Marine Chapter descended from the bitter Iron Hands. Created during the 5th Founding, unlike much of the Iron Hands and their fellow successors, have long since accepted the fact that Ferrus Manus is most likely dead and shall never return. But they do not sulk over this fact, instead they have embraced the loss, and the bitter hate that comes with it. They have honed their grief, their bitterness, and their loathing into a potent tool that allows them to become both a tempest of fury and a cold and methodical juggernaut. They care not who must fall on their path of vengeance, only that they see those responsible for their Primarchs death die in agony and fear.
Iron Brothers Pict-File Unavailable The Iron Brothers were a formerly Loyalist Successor Chapter created during the 15th Founding from the lineage of the Ultramarines. Despite their impressive array of victories earned on behalf of the Imperium, the young Chapter received no attention or praise for their heroic sacrifices. Feeling overlooked, overshadowed by more venerable Chapters, the Iron Brothers soon became bitter. Their resentment turned quickly turned to hatred, and the once-proud Chapter let their anger poison their hearts and minds. The final straw occurred when the Iron Brothers fought alongside their progenitors against a Tau invasion on the hive world of Nacris. Following their glorious victory after a hard fought, brutal battle, only praise was directed towards the Ultramarines. In a rage, the Iron Brothers Chapter Master attacked the Ultramarines Captain. For his petulance, the upstart Chapter was forced to undertake a fifty-year long Penitent Crusade through the Eye of Terror. During their sojourn through the Eye, the Iron Brothers became wholly corrupted by the Ruinous Powers, and when next they emerged into realspace, they had become the Chaos warband known as the Nevermourn. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Iron Bulls Pict-File Unavailable The Iron Bulls are a Loyalist Codex-Compliant chapter of the Adeptus Astartes created during the 25th Founding in the 41st Millennium, a Successor Chapter of the Ultramarine. A relatively young chapter, they are notable in their determination to document in detail their history, an effort undertaken by their Master Librarian Ikos Yurin, who regards it as his duty to ensure the deeds and sacrifices of his brothers are not forgotten. They maintain their Fortress Monastery on the world of Toranus III, a world they reshaped to their own purposes after overthrowing the planets former, corrupt Imperial ruler. They regard anyone who is not faithful to the Emperor as in violation of his will, and as such they maintain an unusually positive relationship with the inquisition, willingly working with the Ordos Xenos and Hereticus during several campaigns without any hesitation.
Iron Praetorians Pict-File Unavailable The Iron Praetorian are a 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding Chapter descended from Imperial Fists lineage. A fleet-based Codex-Compliant Chapter, the Iron Praetorians are known for employing heavy weaponry, long-range warfare and shock assault tactics when in combat. The Chapter is known to employ the Land Raider Helios variant more often and is known to have more Land Raider Helios than any other chapters.
Iron Scorpions
IRSdreadnought
The Iron Scorpions are an illustrious Chapter of Space Marines. Bearing the gene seed of the Primarch Rogal Dorn, they are a proud and honourable successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists called into existence during the 20th Founding. They retain a cumbersome force of approximately one-thousand Astartes at their disposal. They are most famed for their iron will, fearlessness and vigorous dedication to the God-Emperor. They oppose arrogance, self-proclamation and even change as foolish practices, and that any true honour and skill should be proven in deeds alone, not petty words and through new technology that is always prone to malfunction, and on top of that, new technology always risks that of giving birth again to the Dark Age of Technology.
Iron Sentinels Pict-File Unavailable The Iron Sentinels are a 10th Founding Successor Chapter of Imperial Fists' lineage. This little known Chapter makes its home in the north-eastern sector of Imperial space. Despite being a fairly old Chapter, the Iron Sentinels are not well known the the common man of the Imperium. Most people suspect that this is because they prefer to garrison worlds against invasion, and defend the common man, as opposed to crusading across the galaxy. Whether this is the truth or not, the current Chapter Master, Suten Rannec considers that there are more important things he has to contend with, like the constant attacks that his chapter must defend against.
Iron Shields Pict-File Unavailable The Iron Shields are an 8th Founding Successor Chapter to the stoic Iron Hands. Their Chapter Master is the veteran Mabiefen Hafoc. Like the Iron Hands they were once considered a Codex Astartes-divergent Chapter mainly due to their system of organisation. They are most commonly used as a 'firefighting' formation, sent across the Segmentum Tempestus to counter various xenos threats.
Iron Sights Pict-File Unavailable The Iron Sights are a Successor Chapter of the stoic and unforgiving Iron Hands. Created during the 9th Founding the Iron Sights have earned renown throughout the Imperium for their extreme marksmanship and heavy firepower. Unlike many Space Marine Chapters they tend to eschew hand-to-hand combat, choosing instead to annihilate their enemies with devastating hails of blots, plasma, and lascannon fire. While their lack of hand-to-hand combat estranges them from some Chapters, such as the Black Templars, it has allowed them to forge some mutually beneficial alliances with close-combat oriented Chapters such as the Angels of Rebirth.
Iron Sons Pict-File Unavailable The Iron Sons are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of Imperial Fists lineage, created during the 22nd Founding. The Iron Sons are known for being a Codex Astartes-compliant Chapter in terms of combat doctrine and organisation, but are flexible enough to utilise ad-hoc formations or change tactics on the fly, when the situation dictates the need.
Iron Spears
Spacemarine
Hailing from the feudal world Ailinne, the Iron Spears are a 22nd Founding Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels. Operating from their Fortress-Monastery of Dunbairrche, the Iron Spears are deployed across Ultima Segmentum and Segmentim Obscura. They typically make use of brutal shock and awe tactics and are known for heavily fusing the native culture of their homeworld into the culture of their Chapter.
Iron Wardens Pict-File Unavailable Created during the 20th Founding, the Iron Wardens are a Loyalist Successor Chapter of Space Marines drawn from the lineage of the stoic Iron Hands. Shortly after their Founding, the chapter went to the aid of an Adeptus Mechanicus research outpost. It was to become a defining engagement in the chapter's history - one which brought them their greatest failure.
Ironclad Templars
Ultima Crusaders 2
The Ironclad Templars are a Loyalist Third Founding Space Marines Chapter derived from the Imperial Fists but are more alike their sword brothers of the Black Templars. The history of the chapter was lost during the First Defense of Aevis, where part of the chapters vaults was burned down by Drukhari Kabalite Warriors. The number of crusades the chapter have been on is unknown as the records where lost in the vault fire, but what is known is that somewhere fought alongside the Black Templars. The chapter is Codex Astartes-compliant, unlike their Black Templar brothers. The chapter has just under 1000 Astarte's.
Integralists
Integralists Colour Scheme
The Integralists are a renegade Space Marine chapter that was created during the 21st "Cursed" Founding in the 36th Millennium. Officially they are a successor of the Ultramarines chapter, but that has since been questioned by many in the Inquisiton. However, their records are sealed by the High Lords of Terra so further investigations into their gene-seed have been barred. They were originally a loyalist chapter that served the High Lords directly, like the Minotaurs, with their main mission being to spy on and infiltrate certain Space Marine chapters that were suspected of heresy. After the Black Crusade of Von Mallas they were discovered to have gone renegade themselves and actively plotted against the Imperium. After being declared Excommunicate Traitoris they are currently being hunted by the Imperium. Their current whereabouts and remaining strength are both unknown though they are suspected to be currently in the Segmentum Tempestus.

Knight Wardens Pict-File Unavailable The Knight Wardens are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter whose origins can possibly be traced back to the 3rd Founding. The Knight Wardens are responsible for the maintenance and garrison of the Warden's Gate, the ancient relic star fortress that oversees the defense of the vitally important worlds of the Mal-tai Sector. Few other Space Marine Chapters can boast of such substantial spaceborne firepower in the entirety of their Chapters' armouries. Though their heritage is unknown, without a doubt, this formidable Chapter has proven its mettle during countless conflicts throughout the Imperium's existence.
Knights Exile Pict-File Unavailable Archaic in their ways, proud in their traditions, the Knights Exile are an ancient Chapter borne directly from the chaotic days of the Great Scouring directly following the Horus Heresy. Originally a force of 1,600 Ultramarines Legionaries ordered to run down the remaining Word Bearers within the Exile Sector, the Legionaries of the 67th Company were lost to the Warp, and ended up trapped within the barbarian space of the Lost Shore. Stranded for centuries, fighting for their lives admist the forgotten, war-torn worlds of that Emperor-forsaken region that borders proper Imperial space and the Warp Storm known as the River of Exiles, the Legionaries that would become the Knights Exile eventually made it to the fortress worlds of the Golden Cordon in M32 having suffered grievous losses
Knights of Apocalypse Pict-File Unavailable The Knights of Apocalypse, known also as the Apocalypse Knights, are a loyalist Space Marine Chapter of the 3rd Founding. Supposedly a Successor Chapter of the vaunted Salamanders, their parent Chapter remains unknown due to the fact that the Salamanders deny all ties between their supposed Successors. The Knights of Apocalypse are known to have a high degree of respect for the Emperor of Mankind and the High Lords of Terra that rule in his absence, but show no reverence or compassion for the Inquisition.
Knights of Redemption
Terminator
The Knights of Redemption are a Loyalist Successor Chapter of the venerable Raven Guard, created during the 4th Founding. A fleet-based Chapter, the Knights of Redemption are a non-Codex Astartes compliant Chapter that follows their own methods in arming their companies. They also utilise unique titles and specialised ranks not found in any other Chapter. This Chapter excels in drop pod assaults, and are highly effective at eliminating targets using intelligence, pinpointing an enemies' weaknesses and then exploiting them.
Knights of the Anvil Pict-File Unavailable The Knights of the Anvil, also know as the Anvilars, is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created from unknown genetic stock during an Unknown Founding. They were first recorded as having taking part in Imperial campaigns in early M34. The Knights of the Anvil are one of the Hell Warder Chapters and the only one of the five whose presence in Sector Occident Prime predates the first Hell Crusade.
Knights of the Falcon
Assault Knight
The Knights of the Falcon, or Falcon Knights, are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 22nd Founding as Successors of the vaunted Dark Angels. A very proud and conceited Chapter, they are nevertheless, faithful to the principles of chivalry and nobility. In battle they prefer close-combat, and due to the small size of their Chapter, they defeat their enemies through cunning tactics and the quality of their Knights. Settled on the Feudal World of Faidor, the Falcon Knights follow this planet's ancient feudal laws, and each knight of the Chapter is elevated to the title of aristocrat, as they clearly follow the Code of Chivalry, but have almost a complete disregard for the Codex Astartes. As heirs of Lion El'Jonson, they have decided to distance themselves as far as possible from their Primogenitors and their fellow Unforgiven Chapters, preferring to choose their own way and create their own history.
[[Knights of the Fist Pict-File Unavailable The Knights of the Fist are a Loyalist crusading Successor Chapter descended from the lineage of the venerable Imperial Fists, created during an Unknown Founding. They largely follow from the example of the Black Templars in both Chapter organisation and combat doctrine.
Knights of the Forge Pict-File Unavailable The Knights of the Forge are a proud Successor Chapter of the valiant Salamanders, created during the 23rd 'Sentinel' Founding in M37. They hail from the planet Ashaytus, located in the galactic south of the Ultima Segmentum, to the east of the Nephilim Sector. The chapter is well-trained in siege warfare, as they are tasked with repelling xenos from nearby systems, a valiant task worthy of their knightly heritage. While their traditions may differ from the norm of starts chapters, they hold some values, such as citizens' lives, higher than most - a trait most likely inherited from their progenitors and questing forefathers. These beliefs, however, can sometimes put them at odds with planetary governors, members of the Inquisition and even other chapters. None the less, the knights fight on, for they know that duties will be remembered by the Emperor, and those they protect.
Knights of the Hammer Pict-File Unavailable The Knights of the Hammer are a Loyalist Successor Chapter of the venerable Imperial Fists, created during the 3rd Founding in 001.M32. Their culture is based on medieval times and forges, much like the Salamanders. There fortress-monastery is called The Anvil and is situated on the planet known only as the Abyss. As inheritors of Dorn, the Knights of the Hammer are strict followers of the Codex Astartus. Most of the battle-brothers of this Cahpter wear archaic Mk IV 'Maximus' pattern power armour, a remnant of their link to the bygone Horus Heresy era, and often incorporate a Heresy-style shoulder pauldron.
Knights of the Silence
Silencer knight2-0
The Knights of the Silence are a semi-Codex compliant Successor Chapter created from lineage of the stoic Imperial Fists during an Unknown Founding. A fleet-based Chapter, the Knights of the Silence willing take the fight to the enemies of Mankind, to bring the light of the Emperor to the darkest corners of the galaxy, and purge the apostate, the heretic and the xenos with the righteous fire of their bolters and blades. Together with their Succssor Chapter, the Knights of Erichson, they are as close as actual blood brothers.
Knights of the Watch
Knight of the watch
The Knights of the Watch are not a standard chapter but a fellowship of veteran Astartes who, inspired by the example of former Death Guard Battle-Captain, Nathaniel Garro, who have left their Chapters to follow the path of Errantry, seeking out and destroying the enemies of the Emperor wherever they might be found. Though their origins are shrouded to the myths of ages, there have been eye witness reports of individual Astartes wearing the white and and gold as far back as the post-Heresy period in M31. Some theorize that the original Knights were loyalists from the Traitor Legions who shed all former allegiances and dedicated themselves to the Emperor alone through his servants the Lords of Terra.
Knights of Kulaebra Pict-File Unavailable The Knights of Kulaebra are believed to have been founded in the earlier half of the 37th Millennium, either during the Sentinel Founding or prior to it. The chapter itself is located in the corner bordering both the Segmentum Solar and the Segmentum Pacificus, leaving them in an optimal position to respond to marauding Chaos forces that elude the patrols around the Eye of Terror or to intercept xenos pirates who seek to plunder the most prized worlds of the Imperium. While their place in the galaxy is well thought out, the location was selected based on the self-serving bias of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Knights of Steel
Kontos
The Knights of Steel were forged from the Geneseed of Lion El'Johnson in the 4th founding of Astartes in 599.M32. Like most other 4th founding chapters, the first of their ranks were made from veterans of their predecessors. Their first Grand Master Moramis Androrius served within the Dark Angels Dreadwing company, bringing his new chapter a strong focus on armored combat, a favor they still have to this day.
Knights of the Throne Pict-File Unavailable The Knights of the Throne are a loyalist Codex-divergent Successor Chapter of Primaris Marines created from the gene-seed of the Imperial Fists by Belisarius Cawl during the 27th Founding, the Ultima Founding. They were originally counted among the Unnumbered Sons, a secret army unveiled by Roboute Guilliman upon his return. As the Indomitus Crusade liberated planet after planet, contingents of the Unnumbered Sons were formed into Chapters, and placed at locations of value to the Imperium. Such was the case with the Knights of the Throne, formed to protect the Feudal World of Logris, a crossroads valued for the stable nature of the Warp in it's vicinity. Chosen from the most zealous of the Imperial Fists line, the defenders of Logris are staunch believers in the divinity of the Emperor. Almost destroyed in the Fall of Camlann, the remaining doomed Astartes ventured forth from the world in a Crusade to protect those faithful of the Emperor in need.

Light Crusaders Pict-File Unavailable The Light Crusaders are a Loyalist Codex-compliant Space Marine Chapter of Unknown Founding and lineage, known for their religious zeal and hatred towards heretics. They proscribe to their home world's religious practices (an officially sanctioned variants of the Imperial Creed). They have close ties with the Ecclesiarchy and believe the Emperor is the embodiment of the Light itself, and so, is a divine being.
Lightbringers Pict-File Unavailable The Lightbringers are one of the Unforgiven Successor Chapters of the venerable Dark Angels. Created during the 4th Founding, the Lightbringers are a renowned if somewhat of a maligned Chapter. They have long fought for the purity and tranquility of the Imperium of Man. Since their inception, they have acted as the Emperor's judgment upon the most damnable foe of the Imperium, the traitor. They were exemplars of such judgment when they spearheaded the great campaign of purges following the infamous Beheading, hunting down renegade Officio Assassinorum agents across the breadth and width of the Imperium
Lightning, The Pict-File Unavailable The Lightning are a Loyalist Successor Chapter of the venerable White Scars, possibly created during the 21st ('Cursed') Founding. They make their home upon the world of Saka, located in the Thermopylae Sub-Sector of Sector Occident Prime. The Lightning are one of the five Hell Warders Chapters, tasked with the defence of the Imperium against Chaos incursions from the 'Hellgates' - dual warp storms located in the Segmentum Solar, which are uncomfortably close to Holy Terra.
Lords Exemplar Pict-File Unavailable The Lords Exemplar are a Codex Astartes-compliant, 5th Founding, Space Marine Chapter of Ultramarine stock. The Lords Exemplar are the embodiment of a Space Marines noble heritage, and like true sons of Gulliman are expert tacticians each. Though often regarded by their fellow Space Marines as arrogant perfectionists, the Lords Exemplar have proven themselves to be some of the finest Space Marines in the galaxy due to their harsh training and doctrine.
Lost Sons, The
Lost Son, 1st Captain
The Lost Sons are a disparate group of Astartes that can scarcely be called a Chapter as it is made up of less than two-hundred orphaned Space Marines, all from lost or fallen Chapters. To say that this motley assemblage of Renegades is regarded with suspicion by the Inquisition and Lords of Terra would be a massive understatement. The Lost Sons have been on a penitential crusade ever since their First Captain, Andreas Solar, won their lives by successfully passing through the Grey Knights' ordeals. With said success, First Captain Solar earned the band a temporary stay of execution from a reluctant Kaldor Draigo.
Lightning Wraiths Pict-File Unavailable The Lightning Wraiths are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter founded on the 37th Millennium as a successor to the White Scars. As such, the Lightning Wraiths retained some of the White Scars' traditions and combat doctrine. They were created in response to an increase in Drukari activity in the Segmentum Obscurus. The First Preceptor, Khugal Khan, had forged his chapter into a swift and silent killing machine with the guidance of the first Iakugo, Tarac Re'Nali to deal with the Dark Aeldari efficiently and as penance for a failure that had cost Khugal his honor and the life of the Great Khan Chaigut. A chapter born from shame, hate, and vengeance, the Lightning Wraiths are a reclusive chapter with traditions that derive from various death and warrior cults of their home planet. As such, they are quite autonomous from the Imperium at large, sometimes acting on their own accord rather than from the orders bestowed upon them. Their loyalty is questioned at times, but they have proved time and again that they would rather die than betray the Imperium that Jaghatai fought for. Very few are welcome among the ranks of Lightning Wraiths, and in turn very few trust the Chapter.
Lions Exemplar
Lions Exemplar Colors
Heirs of Lion El'Jonson, this Chapter can trace its origins back to the ancient times of the 4th Founding. Ever since then, they have been unusually distant from their progenitors as well as the other Unforgiven. This, in turn, has made the Lions somewhat wary of other Chapters in general, suspecting themselves to flawed in a way unknown to them. They deviate in from the Codex Astartes in a number of ways, most prominently regarding their organization and the importance they assign to their Chaplains. Worshipping their Primarch as the Emperor's greatest warrior, his example is thoroughly instilled into every Battle Brother and failure is considered a stain on his image that needs to be purged.
Living Metal Pict-File Unavailable The Living Metal Space Marine Chapter is a successor chapter of the Iron Hands Space Marines. They are regarded to be one of the most advanced and progressive among the successors of the Iron Hands and the rest of the Space Marine chapters throughout the Imperium. This reputation brings the attention of the Adeptus Mechanicus and nearly considered their technological advancement techno-heretical, this claim is yet to be proven. The current Chapter Master of the Living Metal, Vertrud Soliman does not undermine the authority and the power of the Adeptus Mechanicus but he does not take interest with, what he considers, the stubbornness of their religiosity.

Macragge's Guardians Pict-File Unavailable The Macragge's Guardians are a 27th 'Ultima' Founding Successor Chapter created from the lineage of the vaunted Ultramarines. Alongside the newly created Fulminators, the Macragge's Guardians are one of the relatively new Space Marine Chapters that is composed entirely of Primaris Space Marines. They are eager to prove merit in upcoming battles for the Imperium of Man. They are faster, stronger and have quicker reflex times than their older cousins. Loyal and resolute to a fault, they are eager to prove themselves in the eyes of their more venerable kindred.
Manticores Pict-File Unavailable The Manticores are a Renegade Chapter, originally part of the 'Cursed' 21st Founding and successors of the Dark Angels. Despite being deemed 'traitors', this is far from the truth. Near the ending of the M40, the Chapter was in pursuit of the infamous Fallen Angel, Cypher, which lead to the Manticores coming into conflict with the Inquisition. Rather than revealing the dark secret of the Fallen, the Manticores took the blame and were thus declared traitors. Now they roam the galaxy, chased by their former comrades, with only their fellow Unforgiven knowing the truth.
March Wardens Pict-File Unavailable The March Wardens are a 25th Founding Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes that are descended from the Imperial Fists. They are a chapter who has had a mixed history of terrible downfalls and profound blessings. Their homeworld is Jogorran Prime and their current Chapter Master is Aximond the Unyielding.
Marines Ardent Pict-File Unavailable The Marines Ardent are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created as part of the 23rd 'Sentinel' Founding as a Successor Chapter of the Iron Champions, through the proud lineage of Rogal Dorn. In the wake of the Third Navarine Crusade, which saw hundreds of worlds fall to the Imperium, it was decided that a force of Astartes should be created to help protect the new territories, centred around the Verana Sector. The Chapter specialises in rapid response, crushing threats to the region before they have a chance to grow. The native culture of their homeworld has deeply influenced this Chapter. although in terms of organisation they are mostly Codex-adherent.
Marines Baleful Pict-File Unavailable The Marines Baleful are a 15th Founding Dark Angels Successor Chapter, one with a dark and shrouded history. This Marines Baleful were originally known as the Angels of Valiance, a proud and arrogant Chapter obsessed with their own superiority. However, after their arrogance nearly became their downfall, the Chapter underwent drastic changes to it's structure, livery, and culture, renaming themselves the Marines Baleful. They have since become a mysterious and potent force against the enemies of the Imperium, striking fear into the hearts of their foes.
Matadors Pict-File Unavailable The Matadors are a Loyalist Successor Chapter of the venerable White Scars. Created during the 18th Founding, the Matadors are a savage and bloody-handed Chapter famed for its sheer drive and relentless demeanor as well as their reckless charges and assaults. More than once has the Matadors savagery bordered on heresy and yet, their effectiveness cannot be denied nor can the Inquisition afford to brand the Chapter as renegades, not only out of respect to the Chapters past doings, but for fear of the damage they would cause should they turn upon the Imperium.
Maverick Lords Pict-File Unavailable The Maverick Lords are young and fierce Chapter borne from the chequered legacy of Jaghatai Khan and his White Scars. Created during the 22nd Founding, the Maverick Lords are a Chapter known for their wily ways and reckless bravery on the field of war. Hailing from the churning seas and perilous mountains archipelagos of the Feudal World of Tempesuto, the Maverick Lords are often esoteric in their ways, mirroring the bottomless seas of their homeworld, fickle and inscrutable to outsiders.
Mythril Lords
Standard mythril lord
Mythril Lords are a Loyalist Chapter of the 3rd Founding. The origin of their gene-seed is unknown and highly debated. It is said, that they still remember who their gene-father is, but they have remained silent about it. Others say they purged the information after a falling out with their progenitor. The truth of the matter still remains a mystery to all, but the Chapter. They are a Chapter with a zealous attraction to flame and since the Chapter's inception it has always had an exceedingly high number of psykers. They originated as a fleet-based Chapter though eventually found a home world named Mysera.
Martyred Angels Pict-File Unavailable The Martyred Angels are a loyalist Codex-Divergent Chapter that for most of their history believed themselves to be a Dark Angels successor, however in the aftermath of a joint action with the Flesh Tearers (in 956.M41.) where the Black Rage overcame many of the chapter they discovered the truth of their origin, after the battle Gabriel Seth contacted Commander Dante about the new successor’s who then dispatched a team to investigate.

Necropolis Pict-File Unavailable The Necropolis is a highly unusual, semi-Codex compliant Chapter of Space Marines. Created during an Unknown Founding, they are believed to hail from the lineage of the shadowed Raven Guard Chapter, although they have semi-control of their Betcher's Gland, which may indicate otherwise. They are obsessed with death in all its myriad forms and go so far as to include it in all of their rituals. It is even rumored, correctly, that they are actually killed during their final initiation trials before they become fully-fledged Astartes, and then are expected to either rise once again, or die for their last time. This Chapter hails from the Night World of Mors Aeterna, which translates into the Low-Gothic term of 'Eternal Death'.
Night Griffons Pict-File Unavailable The Night Griffons are a loyalist Codex-deviant Chapter founded in the wake of the 13th Black Crusade as part of the Ultima Founding, to bolster the front lines. Assigned the planet of Alteros Prime in the Alteros system of the Segmentum Obscurus, the Night Griffons were tasked with being amongst the first Primaris Marine Chapters to maintain a permanent presence within the Segmentum Obscurus to combat the Forces of chaos. The Night Griffons Astartes are exceptionally resilient and are resolute to a fault but this has already cost the chapter dearly with the chapter currently maintaining a below nominal force of space marines.
Night Reavers Pict-File Unavailable The Night Reavers are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter. Following the Consuming, they are down to little over a company's worth of full-fledged Battle-Brothers. They are not strict in their adherence to the Codex Astartes, with many strategies and tactics varying from what is considered acceptable by more strict chapters. Their current location is unknown, but they operate mainly around the Ultima Segmentum and Segmentum Obscurus, however, there are several reports that they are on a mission deep into the Eye of Terror.
Night Scorpions
28ujvd4
The Night Scorpions Chapter were formed in the 26th Founding, 738.M41, with the task of insuring against the threat of xenos incursion in the Reductus Sector between the Chapters of the Crimson Fists, the Marines Exemplar and the Dark Hunters. The Chapter was formed from the gene-seed of Rogal Dorn, provided from the stocks of the Crimson Fists. They would be based upon the lush jungle death worlds of Paethon and Cleon. A pair of Gemini planets nestled within the Cerberus stars, a small system comprising important agri-worlds that even the might of the Crimson Fists would be spread too thin to defend were it to come under any sort of sustained attack from the nearby Ork menace. Paethon, the larger of the two worlds, would act as the main base of the Chapter and its sister world Cleon would allow for further recruitment to the Chapter.
Night Terrors Pict-File Unavailable The Night Terrors, also known as the 'Astartes Vareor', 'Those Who Lie Beyond', 'Haunted Angels', 'Children of Dread' or the 'Dead Ones', are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter founded during the turmoil of the mid-35th Millennium. During these times, such as the events of the Nova Terra Interregnum, the Imperium was in a time of disorder and chaos. This division would last for nine standard centuries. During this time, there were multiple Foundings of Space Marine Chapters created to counteract the many threats to the unstable Imperium during this tumultuous period in Mankind's history. The Astartes of the Night Terrors are more vengeful murderers then soldiers, walking the line between necessary evil and unchained horror. The Chapter quickly gained a reputation as bringers of terror and death, not from every dark corner, but any dark corner.
Night Walkers
Night Walkers
The Night Walkers are a Codex Astartes-compliant Space Marine Chapter of an Unknown Founding and progenitors. They are based on Morrowdim, a world of the Hadronian Wall, Aliris Sector. There is no record of the establishment of this Chapter but they have been in existence at least since the M32, when they are first recorded as taking part in the Second Black Crusade. This Chapter suffers from two mutations - the occulobe, which causes the Night Walkers Astartes eyes unable to adjust to full ambient light, and a sepulchral whisper that is unnerving and difficult to hear.
Nova Paladins Pict-File Unavailable The Nova Paladins are a Loyalist Codex Astartes- compliant Space Marine Chapter. The Nova Paladins are a 26th Founding Successor Chapter of the Ultramarines. The Nova Paladins are a protective and crusading chapter in the proud tradition of Roboute Guillman. The Chapter's homeworld is the world of Bellatorum. Given their location in Ultima Segmentum, the Nova Paladins are tasked to protect the eastern reaches of the Imperium from both the Forces of Chaos as well as xenos foes.
Nova Scions Pict-File Unavailable The Nova Scions are a Loyalist Astartes Chapter of the 27th "Ultima" Founding of unknown lineage. Specializing in urban warfare and dropship assaults, they are based off the planet Fennum, an Imperial Civilized World. Well known for their congenial nature and protective attitude over the larger humanity, they're nonetheless under suspicion by some of the more extreme elements of the Imperium
Nemean Lions Pict-File Unavailable The Nemean Lions are a Successor Chapter raised from the genestock of the Imperial Fists' Primarch, Rogal Dorn. Created during the Twenty Third Founding in the early years of the 38th Millenium their original role was to defend the Aeaean Cluster from Xenos incursions but the comparative peace of this region after the Medean Crusade in M39 has resulted in the Chapter taking on a more expansive role across the Imperium. The Lions have fought in most of the major conflicts of the Galaxy since their founding, from Cadia to Armaggeddon, the Gothic War, the Macharian Crusade and the Indomitus Crusade. This latest conflict has left the Lions badly depleted, with less than half their strength and they have returned to their homeworld to rebuild. A Chapter with a impressive history despite its relative youth, they seem to be paragons of loyalty and purity. Well hidden beneath the surface however lie internal divisions and potentially heretical revelations

Oathkeepers Pict-File Unavailable The Oathkeepers are a Loyalist Successor Chapter of Ultramarines lineage created during an Unknown Founding sometime in M36, although the link is tenuous at best, as the Chapter features a number of slightly divergent traits. Furthermore, their gene-seed itself shows quite a bit of genetic drift, and is not considered pure by the standards of a Chapter of Guilliman's legacy. Due to their genetic deficiencies, the Oathkeepers lack a Melanchormic organ, similar to that of the Salamanders.
Onyx Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Onyx Knights are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding. They are largely the only chapter based within the Malitox Sector. Despite an impressive battle record and an altruistic nature, the reputation of the chapter varies between Imperial organisations. They are popular with the Imperial Guard, but have sour relations with both the Inquisition and the Adeptus Mechanicus. Their reputation with other Space Marine Chapters runs a wide spectrum, with some viewing them favourably while others call them disgraces to the Adeptus Astartes.
Ordo Angelus Pict-File Unavailable The Ordo Angelus, which translates to the 'Order of the Angel' in High Gothic, is a Third Founding Successor Chapter of the proud and noble lineage of the angelic Primarch Sanguinius. Created during the 3rd Founding, the Ordo Angelus inherited their Progenitor's pride on their ability to meet the foe head-on, no matter the odds. Despite the unsavoury reputation of their fellow cousin-Chapters created during their particular Founding, the Ordo Angelus somehow maintained the nobler aspects of their Progenitors. But like many of their fellow Scions of Sanguinius, it was darkly whispered amongst some of the Chapter's detractors that this Chapter's sense of cause and purpose manifested as unflinching, unreasoning fanaticism bordering on madness. Despite their fiery temperament in the heat of battle, the Astartes of the Ordo Angelus are also known for being warrior-artisans, whose pursuit in the fine arts and superlative craftsmanship of their wargear embodies the nobility to which all Scions of Sanguinius aspire. The Ordo Angelus is also known to revere their Primarch Sanguinius above all else, and their Chapter is centred around his worship.
Orcinus Astra
Orcinus Sigil

the Blackfish

The Orcinus Astra is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter founded some time during the 25th Founding in M40. They are believed to be a successor chapter of the Salamanders, but that remains unconfirmed. They serve in tandem with the Order Dolphinus of the Adepta Sororitas, going so far as to share the Abbey of Our Lady Amphitrite as their mutual monastery fortress on their home world of Oceanus. The Blackfish are notoriously defenders of humanity who will go to lengths of "suicidal heroism" to defend "the family of humanity". Their primary objective is to find the entity they call "the God Mother", which they believe to be the lost feminine counterpart to the God-Emperor. Disgusted by the Carcharadons' brutality against their fellow human, their chapter master Natsilane declared a crusade against the Space Sharks.

Phoenix Brethren Pict-File Unavailable Originally known as the Flame Falcons, they were a 21st ('Cursed') Founding Chapter created from Raven Guard stock. Towards the end of their first century of service, the Astartes of this Chapter began to spontaneously immolate, but remained unharmed by the flames that emanated from their bodies. The Inquisitorial task force, led by the Grey Knights and supported by the White Consuls Chapter, attacked their home world of Lethe, and completely destroyed their fortress-monastery and declared the planet Perditus ('Forbidden'). Unknown to their enemies, the full Battle-Brothers of the Chapter sacrificed themselves in order to allow for their Scout Company led by the Chief Librarian and a cadre of Apothecaries and Techmarines bearing their precious gene-seed, fled the doomed Chapter. They settled on the world of Zode II, and began to rebuild their destroyed Chapter. Like the mythical phoenix rising from the ashes, the Flame Falcons renamed themselves the Phoenix Brethren. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Praeterfactors Pict-File Unavailable The Praeterfactors are a 19th Founding Space Marine Chapter of Imperial Fists' gene-stock. This Chapter is generally looked down upon by most modern era Chapters for their disregard of the Codex Astartes and their unorthodox combat method. They are, however, known to be fanatically loyal to the Imperium and the Emperor, sometimes even to the point of extremism.
Praetorian Sons Pict-File Unavailable The Praetorian Sons are an ancient Successor Chapter of the vaunted Ultramarines, formed during the Third Founding in 001.M32. The Praetorian Sons are a Codex-compliant Chapter and venerate their Primarch Roboute Guilliman to the same extent as the Chapter does with the Emperor - the Chapter cult venerating both as gods. They are fanatical in their beliefs in Guilliman and believe his Codex Astartes to be divine mandate in how an Astartes must carry himself both on and off the battlefield. This has led to the Chapter remaining very versatile in their military capabilities but also means they do not excel in a specific form of combat like other non-compliant chapters.
Preachers Pict-File Unavailable The Preachers are a non-Codex Astartes-compliant Space Marine Chapter that were secretly created from Dark Angels genestock during an Unknown Founding in mid-M32. They were created at the time, to enforce the teachings of the newly formed Ecclesiarchy and to ensure that no one could touch their position of power. However, once the High Lords of Terra discovered this Chapter, they quickly forced the Ecclesiarchy to sever all ties with them. For some 300 years the Preachers wandered aimlessly around the galaxy, searching for their purpose. They soon found it and have now became a force to be reckoned with.
Prophetic Forgiven Pict-File Unavailable The Prophetic Forgiven are the remnants and successors of the Loyalist elements of the Prophets of Redemption. They were originally created as a part of the 22nd Founding in M37. Following a brief, but brutal Chapter civil war, the newly renamed Prophetic Forgiven were sent on a 100 year Penance Crusade in order to atone for the crimes that their renegade brothers committed during their Chapter's internal strife. They are reputed as being a Chapter of harsh-minded Astartes who have adopted the same mentality as their Inquisitorial allies.
Prophets of Redemption
IconProphetsofdestiny
The Prophets of Redemption were a formerly Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 3rd Founding in 001.M32. The sole aim of the Chapter was to redeem the galaxy from the foul taint of Chaos. Over time, the commanders and Librarians of the Chapter began to implement radical techniques in order to combat the chaos scum, going so far as using the forbidden art of sorcery in order to forcefully remove the tainted souls of the damned followers of Chaos. The continued use of Sorcery led to the eventual downfall of the Chapter, and they became the Prophets of Destiny, wholly dedicated to Tzeentch. They were declared Excommunicate Traitoris in 510.M36 during the battle of Magdelon IV when it became apparent that the Librarians of the Chapter were using raw warp energy to rip apart the heads of the Traitor Astartes loyal to the Daemon Syrath . (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Purifiers, The Pict-File Unavailable The Purifiers are a highly conservative Space Marine Chapter of unknown origins, created during the 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding. They believe that every human in the Imperium has the taint of Chaos in them, they also have a tiny amount of redemption - a sliver of purity. The Purifiers seek to nurture this purity of others and destroy those they deem beyond redemption.
Phantoms Chapter
NetherHostTactical
The Phantoms Chapter are the replacement for a Space Marine Chapter originally named the Nether Host, founded during the 23rd Founding, also known as the "Sentinel Founding", and as such are known to be battle-hardened warriors. The Phantoms are named in homage to the destruction of the Nether Host, especially those murdered at the hands of their bitter enemies the Scourge Knights. The Chapter's doctrine is largely based around close combat and destructive capabilities, utilising a large number of Assault Marines, Assault Terminators and heavily armed & armoured Dreadnaughts. The Nether Host came close to destruction shortly after their founding after the Chief Librarian, Sa'vael Ra, fell to the tempting whispers of power of the Chaos God of Change, Tzeentch which resulted in a civil war within the chapter that split them into two separate forces - The loyalist Phantoms Chapter who were saved due to the timely aid of the Storm Crusaders, and the Chaos Warband dubbed "Scourge Knights", the latter of which are still lead by the surviving Sa'vael, first a Sorcerer-Lord of Tzeentch and then Daemon Prince, whom now seeks bitter vengeance against Chapter Master Malevos.
Praetors of Nocturne Pict-File Unavailable The Praetors of Nocturne are successor chapter of the Salamanders from an unknown founding. Due to the presence of Necrons on their homeworld they have been engaged in action almost constantly since their founding, constant losses ensuring their strength remains that of half of most chapters.

Quantum Marines Pict-File Unavailable The Quantum Marines are a Loyalist Successor Chapter of the unforgiving Iron Hands Chapter. Created during the 21st ('Cursed') Founding, the Quantum Marines were one of the newly created Chapters that were recalled by the Imperium to be disbanded, due to severe genetic idiosyncrasies found within many of the Astartes Chapters from their Founding. Like their progenitors, the Quantum Marines have developed a near insatiable fixation on cybernetic improvements and enhancement, which has led them to become more machine than flesh. Their increased integration with machinery has dissipated the typically inherited Iron Hands' bitter temperament, in favour of a more clinical demeanor.

Raduxans Pict-File Unavailable The Reduxans are a formerly Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding and of uncertain lineage. They are presumed to be a Raven Guard Successor Chapter, due to their propensity to wear Mk VI 'Corvus' pattern power armour as well as their use of stealthy, lightning-like assault tactics. But other believe they hails from Imperial Fists or Iron Hands gene-stock due to their preference for besieging enemy fortifications with heavy weapons rather than close-assault. There is little information in regards to the corruption and eventual fall to the Ruinous Powers. Now they are a Chaos warband known as the Mutators. They favour the use of heavy weaponry and suffer/benefit from their constantly-changing mutations gifted to them by their patron Chaos God Tzeentch. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Red Crusaders Pict-File Unavailable The Red Crusaders are Loyalist Space Marine Chatper sired from the venerable Imperial Fists, created during an Unknown Founding in M36 for unknown purposes. The Red Crusaders patrol the galaxy, aiding in whatever conflict they can. Though they are fleet-based, most of the Chapter's recruits are taken from the Ice World of Northag. The Chapter culture is highly influenced by that of the Northagi, to the extent that they are divided into different clans. The clans, along with the chapter itself, are lead by the Valfar. The one chosen to adorn the title of Valfar is the greatest warrior of the Chapter, and has shown great capability for leadership.
Red Vipers Pict-File Unavailable The Red Vipers are a now extinct Loyalist Successor Chapter of the Raven Guard, created during the 21st ('Cursed') Founding. After their inception, they came to some acclaim, as they appeared to possess no mutations, unlike their fellow 21st Founding Chapters. But soon, the Red Vipers developed a highly mutated Betcher's Gland, which allowed them to spit powerful streams of highly corrosive acid at an irregular frequency. Some even developed snake- like fangs through which they could pump this acid. While this mutation was useful in combat, Chapter Master Geralt Kaiden of the Red Vipers feared that it would see the chapter purged by the Inquisition. So in secret, he organized the non- mutated members of the Red Vipers to instigate a secret plan to purge the chapter of it's tainted members before it was to late. By doing so, Kaiden had sealed the grim fate of his Chapter. A civil war resulted, and the Tainted emerged triumphant. With their Chapter master dead, the surviving tainted fled into the Eye of Terror, becoming the Chaos warband known as the Blood Serpents. Eventually, the Blood Serpents returned to finish what they began, launching an audacious assault against their former kin. During the attack, they started a catastrophic chain-reaction which destroyed their former Chapter home world and the remaining Red Vipers with it.
Regal Fists
Regal Fists Terminator

Retributionists
Retributionist 6th Squad 5th Company
The Retributionists are a 3rd Founding Chapter of the stalwart Imperial Fists. Known prior as the Alabaster Fists, the well-known and gloried chapter was ambushed during their first mission, and much of the chapter was lost, along with their first chapter master. Vowing to take revenge and continue to do so against the forces of chaos for the massive casualties of the ambush, the Retributionists were born. They are known for their pledges of silence that some still hold from right after the first mission ambush, and also for their extreme cruelty against traitor marines. Their Home World of Confession is one of roaring pines, freezing cold lakes, and a blindingly bright sun in a cloudless blue sky. The Silent Hall, their Fortress-Monastery, is a beacon of pristine silence and meditation only broken by the most necessary of words. The Retributionists' only true allies are the Excorsists, as most other chapters find them hard to get along with, or understand in their silent, and humorless nature.
Revealers
Revealermarine
Created during the 3rd Founding alongside such brutal Chapters as the Executioners, the Revealers are an old, proud Chapter descended from the legendary Imperial Fists. Known for their zealous demeanor and unceasing quest to destroy all enemies of the Imperium, wherever they may lurk. The Revealers have become known as merciless witchhunters and destroyers of heretical cults, which has made them steadfast allies of the Ordo Hereticus, although many see them as the Inquisition's lapdogs.
Rhinos, The Pict-File Unavailable The Rhinocerotidae Astra, usually abbreviated to Space Rhinos or just the Rhinos, are a Space Marine Chapter hailing from Yekna Prime located in Segmentum Ultima. They were supposedly created from White Scars lineage during an Unknown Founding. They are best known for their relentless charges and the brutal melee which usually follows. So long as at least one Rhino remains the frontal assault does not cease. The current chapter master of the Rhinos is Akachi Masego.
Rift Keepers
Dominator
The Rift Keepers are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter believed to have been created during the 8th Founding from unknown lineage, as their gene-seed lacks specific genetic markers. This strange and enigmatic Chapter is rarely seen by the galaxy at large. The Chapter is wholly (some would say fanatically) dedicated to guarding a small but highly dangerous Warp Storm known as Badak's Rift, located on the very edge of the Astonomican in the farthest edges of the Ultima Segmentum. It is a dark and sinister place, named after the fool Rogue Trader that first ventured into it, never to return. Few if any ever venture near that area of empty space, yet the Rift Keepers will defend this dark place to their last with a will that is unlike anything seen, even in Space Marines.
Ronin Pict-File Unavailable The Ronin are a Loyalist and non-Codex Astartes-compliant chapter of unknown origin and Founding. They are known to wander the width and breadth of the galaxy, and have been witnessed in numerous warzones and battlefronts without any discernible rhyme or reason. Their dubious origins are hard to pinpoint, which is only made more confusing by the chatper's unwillingness to confirm or deny the numerous suppositions in regards to their progenitors. Their secretive nature, indicates that they might possibly be a Dark Angels Successor Chapter, but they usually name themselves as Scions of Roboute Guilliman. The Astartes of this Chapter are known to be stoic of temperament, who possess little regard for any casualties except their own. In battle, they employ Techmarines and Librarians to lead their chapter. The Ronin have garnered a reputation for being one of The Honorless chapters who uses disreputable means to prosecute their campaigns.
Red Drakes

Riders of Orion Pict-File Unavailable The Riders of Orion are a primaris space marine chapter of the 27th Ultima founding. On the planets surrounding their homeworld of Orius the Riders have gained a reputation as viscous fighters on their hippogryph like steeds. They also gain merit and ranks through the ritualistic hunting of large game such as daemons or xenos.
Royal Iris Crusaders
The Venerable Crusaders Space Marine Chapter

The Royal Scorpions are a Chapter tasked with defending the Kuravan Sector which is a prime target for renegades and mutants. Ruinous Fiends
Ruinous Fiends

Sanguine Seraphs Pict-File Unavailable Sanguine Seraphs are Loyalist, but Codex-divergent Chapter created from the gene-seed of Blood Angels during 7th Founding in early M35. Their homeworld Zion Secundus was destroyed in M37, as a result Chapter was reorganized almost similar to Black Templars, including six independent Wings led by Lord Commodore (equivalent to Force Commander) while Lord Admiral travels across the galaxy with Ancient (1st) Company, joining Wings or fighting on their own. Although they were founded as usual Codex Chapter, Sanguine Seraphs always preferred warfare doctrines of their ancestors, the Blood Angels, and became true masters of blitzkrieg, striking their foe with relentless onslaught, without even a single moment of respite, but the cost they pay for it is awful. It is said that Sanguine Seraphs turn into Black Rage twice faster than other Sons of Sanguinius, that's the reason why they paint right legs and arms of their Power Armor in colors of Death Company. Thus, in late M35 Chapter was thoroughly inspected by Inquisition. As the result Chapter Master Calderon signed pact with Inquisition according to which during whole next Millennium every 10th neophyte should be sent to Death Watch right after he becomes complete Battle Brother, to make sure that problem isn't related to gene-seed. Chapter passed this test with dignity, many of those Astartes became high officers and venerable veterans of Death Watch.
Scorched Spartoi Pict-File Unavailable The Scorched Spartoi are a Successor Chapter created from the gene-seed of the Imperial Fists during the 25th Founding in M40. With the collapse of the Jericho System, this Scorched Spartoi were initially created, along with several other Chapters, to help prepare to defend against the darkness that had already been well on its way by M37. Being a younger Chapter, they are very ambitious and eager to leave their mark. As a Codex Chapter they try their best to follow the Codex Astartes but will at times will stray from it to conform to their personalised tactics of blitz warfare. So far, this Chapter has been almost completely wiped out, twice, due to their stubbornness and refusal to make a strategic retreat in the face of the enemy, even when it was beneficial for them to do so. This is due their battle-brothers having been ingrained with the Chapter's doctrine of once they have become engaged in battle, there is no direction but forward.
Sky Guardians
GATactical Marine
The Sky Guardians are a solitary chapter of Space Marines originating from the mysterious 13th ('Dark') Founding. They are closely tied to the Inquisiton's Ordo Xenos, who played a heavy role in their Founding in the 36th Millennium. Descendants of the Raven Guard, the Guardian Angels are based on the isolated frontier world of Elysion, located within the Halo Zone of the Segmentum Pacificus. The chapter has stood watch over this unknown region of space for thousands of years, fulfilling their ancient task of guarding the dark void that exists beyond the Halo Stars. They are known for their explorations into areas of deep space on the edge of the Milky Way, and are rumoured to hold secrets relating to the existence of other life outside the galaxy.
Sanctors of Lightrim Pict-File Unavailable The Sanctors of Lightrim are a renegade Space Marine Chapter of Unknown Founding and origin, created to guard against the threat of the Traitor Legions attacking the Nosgothica Sector from the nearby Eye of Terror. The Sanctors were once counted amongst the most stalwart defenders of mankind. But the insidious threat of Chaos wrapped its corrupting tendrils around the very soul of the Chapter, instilling within the Sanctors' lore-seeking brethren, an unnatural craving for forbidden knowledge. Soon their struggle to turn the dark powers of the Chaos Gods against themselves and their servants for the good of humanity, drove the Sanctors down a much darker path. Not long after, the Sanctors became wholly corrupted, becoming the Chaos warband known as the Sons of Damnation. However, their activities soon drew the unwanted attention of the Inquisition, which resulted in the Sanctors ultimately being declared as 'Renegade' by the Ordo Hereticus. The surviving Sons fled into the relative safety of the Eye of Terror, where they continue their dark pursuits in acquiring ultimate power. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Scarlet Beasts
ScarletBeasts
The Scarlet Beasts were a Codex Astartes-compliant Successor Chapter of the unforgiving Iron Hands Chapter, created during the 6th Founding. Praised throughout the many millennia they served the Imperium of Mankind, the Scarlet Beasts earned fierce, unyielding and successful reputation amongst the ranks of the Adeptus Astartes, even if they faced many misfortunes and hardships. The Scarlet Beasts disappeared from Imperial records after last being recorded in M39. It is generally believed that the entire Chapter had perished while fighting the Aeldari in the lower galactic plane.
Scarlet Bulwark Pict-File Unavailable The Scarlet Bulwark is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of unknown origin, created in M37 during the 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding, in order to help bolster particular regions central to the galaxy near Holy Terra. The Scarlet Bulwark were one such Chapter, created to be a mobile, counter-offensive Space Marine Chapter to hold back encroaching enemies of the Imperium for extended durations of time.
Scarlet Serpents Pict-File Unavailable The Scarlet Serpents are a Successor Chapter of the valiant Blood Angels, created during the 3rd Founding. Since their inception, this Chapter has garnered a reputation as masters of the sword and defenders of Imperial citizenry. The Scarlet Serpents were created with the express purpose of bolstering the tumultuous Imperial rule over the Exile Sector, the first in what would become a series of Chapters known as the Justicarium, either created or settled in the region to defend its people against the nigh endless tides of xenos and heretics that plague it so.
Sea Wolves Pict-File Unavailable The Sea Wolves are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 8th Founding from unknown origins. They are a nominally Codex Astartes-compliant Chapter who follow the spirit of this valuable tome, but aren't afraid to improvise or adjust their tactics accordingly as the situation on the battlefield warrants. This Chapter is staunchly loyal to the Imperium, much like other, far older Chapters.
Serpent Skulls
Spacemarine powerfist1

The Serpent Skulls are a loyalist gone renegade chapter of which was created during an unknown founding, but the earliest records date back to the War of the Beast. The chapter is no longer codex compliant, due to the chapter thinking that the Imperium had them declared as heretics in late M37. They still fight to save humans despite this factor. After the chapter's fall from grace, they would be granted access to the minor craftworld Ya'tiel. Which they had saved millenia prior from an Ork invasion. On this craftworld they would build their new fortress monastery. After the destruction of craftworld Idharae, the Serpent Skulls would join Alaitoc and Idharae's survivors in attacking the homeworld of the Invaders chapter. Infiltrating the chapter using cloaking devices, before shooting the marines in the back when their attention was focused on the attacking Aeldari. The chapter would make deals with the Dark Aeldari, helping them fight of demonic entities after the Dysjunction. Even being contracted by Vect himself to kill Yvraine, who was seen by the chapter as an enemy to their craftworld. However, the chapter would refrain from the alliance after the resurrection of Roboute Guilliman, forgiving Yvraine and somewhat rejoining the Imperium, even being granted primaris marines to swell their numbers. The chapter would be last seen aiding Imperial forces during the 13th Black Crusade and the Indomitus Crusade.
Shadow Phantoms Pict-File Unavailable The Shadow Phantoms are a mysterious Chapter created during the 13th 'Dark' Founding Chapter. Though their origins are unknown, there is reason to believe that they are descendants of the mysterious chapter known as the Zero Legion. Once they were known as the Shadow Knights, but after the near destruction of their chapter, they reinvented themselves by changing both their name and their former ways. The chapter is also known to offer their services to Inquisitor Alexander Zackery, and have come to be well-respected by the various Imperial Guard Regiments they have worked alongside with.
Shadow Vipers
Shadow Viper Pre Renegade
The Shadow Vipers are a formerly Loyalist Successor Chapter created during the 10th Founding from the lineage of the stoic Imperial Fists. The newly-created Chapter was given the world of Helios located in the Heliosian sub-sector to be their homeworld. For much of their early history they spent the time defending the sector, and other sectors around it from xenos incursions. Their first large scale battles being with a warband of Emperor's Children that invaded Sub-Sector Helios, despite being victorious during the conflict the Shadow Vipers were corrupted by Slaanesh and turned traitor shortly after their conflict with the Emperor's Children. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Shining Blades Pict-File Unavailable The Shining Blades are a former Loyalist Successor Chapter of Ultramarines lineage, created during an Unknown Founding. They were once a proud and Scions of Guilliman, and were renowned for their strategic genius, conducting many campaigns with utter control over any situation. A level of perfection and mastery was required from every member of the Chapter, in areas from martial prowess to maintenance of their wargear. But ultimately, their pride would be instrumental in their downfall. While conducting clearance operations on the world of Nivay IV from an unknown xenos race, the Shining Blades took it upon themselves to conduct the campaign without assistance. For three long, grueling years the Blades fought, bled and died on a world far from home. Eight Companies entered that hellish bog, and only four companies exited, forever after changed by what had occurred within this hellish warzone. The first act carried out by the corrupted Astartes was the destruction of their remaining battle-brothers after they returned to their home world of Matorus. They then virus-bombed the planet, leaving it a barren dead world. From that day forth, they became the Chaos warband known as the Jormungandr.
Sigillites of Omnissiah
Sigillites of Omnissiah
The Sigillites of Omnissiah are Codex Astartes-compliant Crusading Chapter and Successors of the unforgiving Iron Hands, created during an Unknown Founding. Like many of Ferrus Manus' lineage, this Chapter reveres the Emperor as an avatar of the Omnissiah. The believe human can come closer to His perfection only through union with the machine. Therefore, the Sigillites of Omnissiah are known for their extensive use of cybernetics. Sometimes to such extents, that often the only organic components that remain within the bodies of the Chapter's veterans, are nothing more than the brain and couple of other essential organs are left. They are also infamous for their habit of 'perfecting' those Imperial Guard and Planetary Defence Force regiments that serve alongside them, by turning low-ranking troopers into battle-servitors and 'enhancing' their command staff with cybernetics.
Signum Knights
Signum Knight
The Signum Knights are a Codex-compliant Chapter successors of the Ultramarines, created during the early 37th millenium founding due to a unusual request of both the Ultramarines and their most ancient succesor Chapter; the Novamarines, to secure the Imperial border with the Ghouls Stars as they detected an strange amount of Xenos appearing on there, such as new Orks Waaagh!.The Space Marines on this Chapter are great warriors specialized on close quarters combat and use their special rhetoric abilities to inspire themselves and their allies on combat. And despite the tragic losses they recently suffered, they have endured, and even feeling joy after hearing the news about the awakening of their Primarch.
Silver Chimeras Pict-File Unavailable The Silver Chimeras are one of the unfortunate Chapters created during the 21st ('Cursed') Founding. Two millennia after their creation, a horrifying curse befell and overwhelmed this Chapter, threatening to destroy them. A genetic mutation caused the skin of their Astartes to seemingly transmogrify into molten metal, which eventually melted, causing weapons to meld with flesh, or killing the unfortunate battle-brother. Their rampant mutation strained the tolerance of the Inquisition to the breaking point, and thus, they called upon the Grey Knights, who proceeded to assault their Chapter home world and eradicate the doomed Chapter.
Silver Knights
Tsm
The Silver Knights are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of Imperial Fists' lineage, created during an Unknown Founding. Formerly a fleet-based Chapter, they were give the world of Argentum by the Administratum at some unknown date. This Chapter specialises in deep-strike warfare and are regarded as one of the best exemplars of siege warfare the Imperium has to offer. Most unusually, when called upon, the Silver Knights will only field one company of Asartes at a time. This Chapter is also known for maintaining an extensive armoury that includes countless examples of master-crafted and relic weapons that are rarely seen in the modern-era of M41.
Silver Lions Pict-File Unavailable The Silver Lions were once a valiant Space Marine Chapter created during the 8th Founding from the lineage of the Ultramarines. But eventually, this formerly exemplary Chapter fell to the temptations of the Dark Gods and spat on their oaths to the Emperor, becoming the Chaos warband known as the Argent Beasts and later, the Sons of the Perverter. The Silver Lions' betrayal left a black stain upon the fates of the Gallican Sector which they were based in, and of their Successor Chapter, the Bronze Lions, which had to face the ugly truth that they are descended from traitors. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Sinopia Mongooses Pict-File Unavailable The Sinopia Mongooses are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 26th Founding from unknown lineage. This young Chapter considers its mysterious origins to be a blessing of sorts. They are unburdened by the lingering scars of the Horus Heresy, the implementation of the Codex Astartes and the break-up of the Legiones Astartes. They don't concern themselves with the identity of their Primarch or their Progenitors, instead dedicating themselves to their home system and the Imperium at large. The mystery of their origin cuts both ways though, as some more venerable Chapters look down on their dubious 'pedigree' and because they lack much of the old Astartes culture. The Sinopia Mongooses tend to view the Emperor less as a role-model of human excellence and more as a divine figure as the common Imperial citizens would.
Solar Legion Pict-File Unavailable The Solar Legion are a Renegade Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding and of unknown lineage, although many Imperial savants theorise that they are descended from Blood Angels' gene-stock. This infamous Chapter seethes with pretentiousness and hubris, earning a well-derserved reputation as an arrogant and vindictive Chapter as well as being backstabbers. They hold little regard for some of their fellow Adeptus Astartes Chapters whose battle-record doesn't equal their own over-inflated over-glorified battle record. Their sense of self-worth is so extreme, that they believe themselves above average human, whom they hold in contempt is nothing more than weakling vermin that infest the galaxy. Their actions saw them recently declared heretical and treasonous by the Ordo Hereticus, but their planned purge has yet to be undertaken, as the Solar Legion have, thus far, successfully fled from Imperial detection. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Sons of Becol Pict-File Unavailable The Sons of Becol are a Loyalist Successor Chapter from the unforgiving Iron Hand, were created during the 13th ('Dark') Founding sometime in late M35. The Sons of Becol, like their forebears, hate weaknesses of the flesh and of morality. However, unlike any other descendant chapter of the Iron Hands, they worship the Emperor as a God incarnate - a living embodiment of perfection. They will not stop at nothing to purge any treat to his divine realm of man.
Sons of Cerberus Pict-File Unavailable The Sons of Cerberus were a formerly Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 11th Founding, during the tumultuous period known as the Nova Terra Interregnum, from unknown lineage. Due to the constant heavy fighting, high attrition rate, no respite and a lack of spiritual guidance, the young Chapter was easily corrupted by the sibilant whispers of the Pleasure God Slaanesh. Half the Chapter fell to the corrupting influence of Chaos, and departed the the warzone for the hellish realm of the Eye of Terror. The remaining loyalist Sons of Cerberus reported their treacherous kin's actions to the Ordo Hereticus. Unfortunately, their fate was sealed, and the loyalist Sons were eliminated due to their potential corruption. A large Imperial Navy warfleet was dispatched with all haste, and soon caught up to the Renegade Chapter. After a vicious void battle, the remaining Sons, escaped via drop pods. Due to the fickle tides of fate, they soon found themselves safely on the space hulk called Luna. Claiming the derelict vessel for themselves, the Sons of Cerberus set course for the Eye. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Sons of Enlightenment Pict-File Unavailable The Sons of Enlightenment are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of unknown origins and Founding. The origins of the Sons of Enlightenment are believed to date post 546.M32 however little else is known. The Sons of Enlightenment suffer from a genetic flaw of the Catalepsean Node preventing them from sleep, the only relief that the members of the chapter receive are the psycho-trances that the chapter Librarians routinely send them into. A deep sleep-like state where visions both truthful and false are often seen. This genetic mutation is also believed to produce some level psychic tendency, with all recruits showing at least minimal levels of psychic activity after implantation. This secretive Chapter has a fanatical pursuit of knowledge, believing that the acquisition of information is the key to defeating all enemies of the Imperium, accordingly, they rely on the ancient doctrine of "know your enemy". The Sons of Enlightenment are renowned for their obsession with recovering information and technology. Which at times has been of concern to their allies due to the Sons of Enlightenment’s nature of ignoring mission objectives in order to transport found tomes and relics back to their Battle Barge before continuation with the task at hand.
Sons of the Creed Pict-File Unavailable The Sons of the Creed are a Codex Astartes-compliant Space Marine Chapter, created during an Unknown Founding and of uncertain lineage. their earliest recorded campaign occurred during mid-M33. Though many suspect them to be inheritors of Rogal Dorn, as they have fought alongside the Ultramarines on many occasions. Their unique interpretation of the Codex makes for their one-of-kind appearance, as each battle-brother identifies their Company designation by painting their helmet, right shoulder pauldron trim, squad specialty marking and bolter in accordance to the designated colours of the Codex Astartes (1st Co. - 'White', 2nd Co. - 'Yellow', 3rd Co. - 'Red', 4th Co. 'Green', ect).
Sons of Theutonus Pict-File Unavailable The Sons of Theutonus are a Renegade Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding and of uncertain lineage. Formerly a fleet-based Chapter, for unknown reasons, the Sons of Theutonus eventually broke away from the Imperium. At first they still followed the tenets of the Codex Astartes, but eventually, once they embraced the Ruinous Powers, they now follow the doctrines of Chaos Undivided. They have been noted to maintain strong ties to the Iron Warriors Traitor Legion. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Sons Sanguine
Son Sanguine
The Sons Sanguine are a Codex Astartes-compliant Space Marine Chapter, and Successors of the lineage of Sanguinius via the Angels Sanguine. They were created during the 21st ('Cursed') Founding, and unlike many of their peers, haven't turned traitor or been declared Perditus by the Inquisition. They were established on Sanggraal to share with the Night Walkers the duty of supporting the Imperial Navy and Guard forces manning the Hadronian Wall located in the Aliris Sector against encroaching Forces of Chaos.
Space Hornets Pict-File Unavailable The Space Hornets are a Successor Chapter of the venerable Raven Guard, created during the 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding in M37. They are considered one of the most unique Chapters with their skill set - void warfare. Although they often deploy planet-side, the Space Hornets preferred realm of warfare takes place in the void of space. When they attack, they often infiltrate enemy ships and sabotage vital areas. Then they simply cut off certain areas, and box their foes in pre-arranged ambush points, where they cut down their foes with deadly bolter fire. Sometimes they will simply opt to engage enemy vessels in ship-to-ship fighting.
Spartiate Marines Pict-File Unavailable The Spartiate Marines are a Successor Chapter of the heroic Ultramarines, created during the 4th Founding in M33. They are a designated offensive force paired with the defensive experts, the Gatekeepers, as one of the five Hell Warders Chapter that hold the dual Hellgates (twin warp storms) of Sector Occident Prime secure against assaults used by the Forces of Chaos. In battle the Chapter operates as a heavy infantry assault force bringing shock battle to their opponents in tightly massed formations, smashing into their opponent's lines like a hammer with the weight of the successive lines behind it. Even solid fortifications frequently melt under such a brutal onslaught.
Spears of Delos Pict-File Unavailable The Spears of Delos are a Codex Astartes-compliant Loyalist Space Marines Chapter created during the 23rd 'Sentinel' Founding from the gene-seed of the vaunted Ultramarines. They hail from the world of Delos in the Eastern Fringe.
Spider Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Spider Knights are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter that was possibly created from Raven Guard lineage during the 13th ('Dark') Founding. A highly secretive and aloof Chapter, the Spider Knights are highly independent from the rest of the Imperium even though they are based within the Segmentum Solar. They specialise in covert operations and surgical strikes, eliminating entire cells of enemy forces as subtly as possible. When on the front lines, they hit the enemy where it is weakest and exploit every chance they get to strike when and where they have the advantage.
Star Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Star Knights are a 4th Founding Chapter, descended from the Ultramarines. Well known for the skills of adapting to any combat situation, the Star Knights were originally a Codex-compliant Chapter until the Age of Apostasy, when their original homeworld, Artemis, was destroyed by both Chaos incursions and Imperial forces loyal to Goge Vandire, which left the chapter very undermanned to the point of extinction. After the tyrant’s death and the coming of Sebastian Thor, the chapter was cleared of all charges and made another world, the largely populated planet of Garo, their new home. Now the Star Knights have been hailed as some of the greatest hunter and trappers - Space Marines able to adapt and change their tactics on a whim when facing the foes of man.
Star Hunters Pict-File Unavailable The Star Hunters are a Renegade Space Marine Chapter of unknown Founding and uncertain lineage. They are infamous for their acts of piracy, which involve attacking spacecrafts of various races, as well as worlds and salvaging abandoned facilities, bases, Space Hulks and even battlefields. They also attack the bases of various races, primarily Humans, Orks, Aeldari and Tau. Despite that, the chapter has also been known to sometimes engage battle with Chaos Forces, attacking them until there is nothing left.
Star Reapers Pict-File Unavailable The Star Reapers, known also as the Avignika or the Maw of the Void, are a Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding, and are suspected of being successors of the venerable Raven Guard. They are a highly controversial and isolationist chapter, with a history of ruthless brutality. This Adeptus Astartes are experts of lightning fast manoeuvres planned with a detailed complexity unseen in most Space Marine doctrine. Cloaked in a shroud of deliberate mystery and concealment likely created by agents of the Star Reapers themselves, the Chapter hides itself from the prying eyes of institutes such as the Inquisition and even other Chapters considered allies. Indeed, the only beings that know every secret of the Chapter are it's master and the Emperor himself.
Star Wolves
StarWolvesSM2
The Star Wolves are a Chaos Space Marine Warband and once proud Chapter of Space Marines that now reside within the Maelstrom. Created from unknown lineage during an Unknown Founding, they were first seen in late M36. After Inquisitorial Forces declared them Excommunicate Traitoris, the Chapter was nearly purged by the Grey Knights Space Marine Chapter and forces of the Order of the Black Solstice upon the Star Wolves' homeworld of Svalbard. Under the command of their last Chapter Master and current Chaos Lord - Murthek Silvertooth - the remaining Star Wolves fled for their lives into the Maelstrom Zone. Now, the remaining two-hundred warriors fight a hate-fueled war against the Imperium of Man under the banner of the Ruinous Powers.
Steel Paladins Pict-File Unavailable The Steel Paladins were a formerly Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding from unknown gene-seed. They were created for the purpose of keeping a vigilant eye over the Calixis Sector of the Segmentum Obscurus. A fleet-based Chapter, they were to investigate the anomaly known as the Tyrant Star and quell and Chaos rebellions that arose due to the star. It was on the hive world of Thieal, that the Steel Paladins' fate was sealed. While investigating reports of a potential Chaos uprising, the Chief Librarians, along with 5 veteran marines of the elite 1st Company, investigated a mysterious cave not far from the planet's capital. Interrupting a Chaos ritual, the Chief Librarian was tricked into looking upon the Tyrant Star, and when he did so, he became wholly corrupted by its baleful glow. The now-corrupted Chaos Sorcerer went back to his Chapter and through his malign magic, corrupted the rest of his Chapter. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Steel Sentinels Pict-File Unavailable The Steel Sentinels are a Space Marine Chapter of Unknown Founding and gene-seed stock. They were Founded by the official decree of the High Lords of Terra to stand sentinel over the Wreath Sub-sector, a region plagued by regular Ork invasions, renegade activity and xenos plots. Though their tactics lend themselves to siege warfare, the Steel Sentinels tend to draw much of their combat doctrines and strategies from the writings of Rogal Dorn and Roboute Guilliman. They are a fleet-based Chapter operating primarily on the borders of Segmentum Ultima.
Steel Tigers Pict-File Unavailable The Steel Tigers are a Successor Chapter of the venerable Blood Angels, created during the 5th Founding Chapter. They are noted for their extreme divergence from the Codex Astartes, who were intended to perform the role of the 'Imperium's Rapier' - intended to be the pinnacle of Imperial shock troops. Amongst the Blood Angels' Successor Chapters, the Steel Tigers are known for a disproportionate occurrence of the Black Rage, comparable to their brothers, the Flesh Tearers. In many ways, this has resulted in the Steel Tigers being confused for a Cursed Founding Chapter, alongside the likes of the Sons of Antaeus and the Legion of the Damned.
Steel Wardens Pict-File Unavailable The Steel Wardens are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 26th Founding from unknown lineage. They have had the dubious honor of being wiped from the list of active Space Marine Chapters and then surviving to return to active service. This Chapter differs from others in that they do not fight for just the Imperium, but the people themselves, often throwing themselves into hopeless battles or even sacrificing their lives to protect the Imperium's numberless citizens.
Stirges Pict-File Unavailable The Stirges, also known as the Stirges Chapter or Space Owls, are a Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding and from uncertain origins. This Chapter has some infamy throughout the greater Imperium. Known for their mystic traditions derived from the culture of their homeworld, Polyphate, the Stirges' beliefs revolve around divining the Emperor's will through the interpretation of signs of His will within the physical universe. Unfortunately these beliefs are what make the Stirges both capricious foes and unreliable allies, for so often have they abandoned and circumvented others in pursuit of one of their so-called 'omens'. Thus, this Adeptus Astartes Chapter has become synonymous with misfortune, oftentimes on a near-catastrophic scale.
Stonehides
Stonehides battle bro 2016 DA
The Stonehides are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter that might have been created during the 13th ('Dark') Founding and from unknown lineage. This Chapter is relatively unknown, and are located in the Damocles Gulf in the galactic east. For much of their history, the Stonehides have acted as arbiters in this region, handling minor Chaos and xenos threats. They participated briefly in the Damocles Gulf Crusade against the Tau. Following the conclusion of the Crusade, the Stonehides have an informal, mutual non-interferance agreement with the Tau Empire. While some have looked upon this agreement with the Tau as a traitorous act, it is far from being any sort of alliance. The agreement's mutual nature insures that any Tau incursion into the Damocles Gulf is subject to be repelled with extreme prejudice.
Storm Angels Pict-File Unavailable The Storm Angels are a rare Successor Chapter of the feral White Scars, created during the 3rd Founding at the dawn of M32. Like their progenitors, the Storm Angels prefer to get to grips with their enemies in hand-to-hand combat, utilising bolt pistols and chainswords, which allows for the sheer ferocity of their enhanced transhuman attributes to be used to its full potential. The Storm Angels are also notable for their swift drop assaults as well as rapid ship-to-ship combat. Due to a genetic deficiency in their gene-seed, it appears to have trouble adapting within the bodies of those with psychic potential, therefore leaving them with few Librarians.
Storm Bringers Pict-File Unavailable The Storm Bringers are a Successor Chapter created from the venerable White Scars during an Unknown Founding sometime in M36. All of their battle-brothers that comprise the Veteran 1st Company are 'void born', which also make up the vast majority of the rest of their numbers as well. They have no home-world to claim, instead, their massive Chapter fleet serves as their home, their flagship, known as the Golden Temple leading the way as they travel the void. Being well acclimated to both void and Warp travel has made them exceptional at interstellar combat and void-based missions and more specifically the exploration and reclamation of Space Hulks which may pose a threat to nearby colonies.
Storm Crusaders Pict-File Unavailable The Storm Crusaders are a now-almost extinct Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 4th Founding from lineage of the stoic Imperial Fists. They are the famous guardians of the Ghoul Stars and the Imperial border sector Widow Prime, and were widely known for their accomplishments. They number at least two crusades (Phoenix and Shadow Crusades respectively) but they are continuing to rebuild their Chapter and ready the defenses of their homeworld and their recruiting worlds. They were once very numerous in number and their fleets were quite large, but after the Shifter War and the War of Extinction against a Tyranid Splinter fleet, the Chapter was decimated.
Storms of Medea Pict-File Unavailable The Storms of Medea is a Successor Chapter of Ultramarines' lineage, created during the 26th Founding. Originally named the Sons of Elysium, this Chapter was stationed on the fringe of Ultramar and the Ultima Segmentum proper, tasked with standing sentinel over the far reaches of the Eastern Fringe from invading Chaos Warbands and Orks. Possessing a strong sense of patriotism towards their homeworld, Medea, as well as a strong code of ethics, the Chapter faces self-inflicted difficulties. The Chapter's namesake is the result of a bureaucratic mishap - while Imperial records list the planet by its original designation, Elysium VII, its inhabitants refer to their homeworld with another name: Medea.
Sun Hawks
Sun Hawks Tactical Marine
The Sun Hawks are a Successor Chapter of Imperial Fists lineage, created during the 26th Founding. Only recently has this Chapter been brought to full strength, following their recent creation and their early engagements with enemy forces across the Imperium's borders. The Sun Hawks have been known to have an almost spotless combat record - their battle reports from them or soldiers fighting by their side being filled with descriptions of valorous charges, heroic defenses and daring missions behind enemy lines, and much more. Although having been in service for merely around five centuries, the Sun Hawks have more than distinguished themselves in the eyes of the High Lords of Terra and the entire Imperium.
Svolochi, The Pict-File Unavailable The Svolochi are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding and from unknown origins. Their Chapter home world is the Hive World of Kenzeldenerii, located in the outer region of the Segmentum Obscurus. They are a Chapter known for being equal parts suspicious/mysterious and paranoid, as well as have a very difficult relationship with the rest of the Imperium of Man. Especially with the Inquisition and other Space Marine Chapters. Despite there having always been suspicion of them being aligned with the Dark Gods, they continuously claim to possess fierce opposition to it and have demonstrated their loyalty and resolve on numerous occasions. Yet this has not stopped others from casting judgements, however, most which are justified.
Swamp Dragons Pict-File Unavailable The Swamp Dragons are a Successor Chapter of the venerable Ultramarines, created during the 22nd Founding. Hailing from the feral world of Ghagahtia, which is covered in toxic swamps, this Chapter specialises in siegecraft, trench warfare and operating in contaminated or hazardous environments.
Sword Templars Pict-File Unavailable The Sword Templars are a Successor Chapter of the resolute Imperial Fists, created during the 8th Founding. They are stationed near the Drancorian Systems and Widow Systems as Guardians of the Entire Widow Sector. They are one of the few to be stationed here, along with the Crusaders and the few Remaining Wanderers. They often deploy themselves during sieges, or when the other two Chapters are unable to fight. The Sword Templars are a strict brotherhood known far and wide for their beliefs in failure - that failing to do a simple task makes you unable to lead. In order to remind themselves of the cost of failure, the Astartes within the chapter often wear pain gauntlets to stay focused in battle.
Swordfish, The Pict-File Unavailable The Xiphiidae, known more commonly as the Swordfish, are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 21st ('Cursed') Founding from unknown lineage. They are known for their unparalleled skill in subaqueous and void warfare. The Red Wolves, with whom the Swordfish have a strong relationship, refer to them as 'The Waterborn'.
Scaled Sons Pict-File Unavailable The Scaled Sons are one of a handful of loyalist Space Marine chapters with rumoured to be successors of the venerable Salamanders. They believe that their gene seed leads directly back to Vulkan himself, and take great pride in this belief - although this has never been acknowledged by the Salamanders nor the High Priests of Terra.
Sons of Damnation Pict-File Unavailable The Sons of Damnation are a mysterious renegade Space Marine Chapter of unknown Founding and origin. Formerly known as the Sanctors of Lightrim, this Chapter was founded to guard against the threat of the Traitor Legions attacking the Nosgothica Sector from the nearby Eye of Terror. Their betrayal began when they began using the power of Chaos on unwilling human test slaves, turning them into possessed horrors. They believed that only by utilising the very power of Chaos would one be able to ever truly defeat it. Alas, the Chapter overreached themselves, and soon their struggle to turn the dark powers of the Chaos Gods against themselves and their servants for the good of humanity, drove the Sanctors down a much darker path. Their views became twisted by the Dark Gods, who instilled within them an insatiable lust for acquiring power. Soon the Chapter came to believe that only through darkness would one be able to achieve this ultimate power.
Sons of Gorgon Pict-File Unavailable The Sons of Gorgon are a Codex-deviant Adeptus Astartes chapter. They are known for their melee supremacy on the battlefields of Barren End. Savagery and a will of iron are their tenants. They worship the Omnissiah as the spirit within all their technology. The Gorgonites are adversarial to the Adeptus Mechanicus due to a range of religious disagreements and conflicts of interest. They are characterized by fury and their patchwork armor.
Sons of Reason
Sketch-1513806606634
The Sons of Reason are a space marine chapter whose history has been shrouded in mystery by the acts of the inquisition. It is a chapter specialising in the brutal death of all enemies of the Imperium and specifically the inquisition. This chapter is one heavily used by the inquisition for various reasons. They have even been known to hunt and kill over loyal space marines that have ignored the inquisitions orders or did something against the inquisitions will. Often called the sons of slaughter rather than there actual name, it is no surprise that they are a very aggressive chapter. They have been known to charge straight at any enemy lines, be it savage charging orks or the gun lines of the tau empire. However even though this tactic is effective it is also expensive in the loss of astartes lives. Strangely though the chapter never seems to be short on marine to perform the emperors justice.
Star Rajas
StarRaja
The Star Rajas are an Ultramarines Successor Chapter of an unknown Founding, though have been known to be active since the 38th Millennium. The first recorded battle involving the Star Rajas happened in the later half of M38, where they fought alongside the Dark Angels to successfully repel an Ork attack on a hive world in Segmentum Solar. The documents detailing the original founding have vanished and the Star Rajas are constantly working with the Administratum and the Blood Ravens in the hope of locating the secrets of their origins. Nonetheless, the Ultramarine link was clear.
Steel Drakes Pict-File Unavailable The Steel Drakes are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter and an Ultima Founding successor chapter Iron Hands Chapter. They are known for their brutal tactical precision, striking at exactly the right moment and place to cripple and demoralise the enemy force, using both melee and ranged options to surgically render an opposing force into its separate pieces, terrified and ripe for surrender or slaughter. The Steel Drakes are notable for their use of lightning claws, unique amongst Ultima Founding Chapters. This predilection is due to the several ancient lightning claws bestowed on the Steel Drakes by Archmagos Belisarius Cawl. It is said that these relics were forged by their gene-sires, and they are objects of great reverence to the chapter. When they are brought to war the marine entrusted with them is said to experience heightened, almost preturnatural reflexes above and beyond even those of a normal space marine.
Storm Dragons Pict-File Unavailable The Storm Dragons are a loyalist space marine chapter created on the forest planet, Eriee (known to natives as Ka'Barr) during the 10th founding to secure neighboring planets only to realize the xeno threat that was present on Eriee. They take pride in their traditions and have a certain hate for Xenos who terrorized the tribes of Ka'Barr for centuries. They follow a variation of the Imperial Cult called the New Sun, which depicts an eternal sun as their god and the Emperor as a piece of the eternal sun that had broken off after Xenos attacked it. The Storm Dragons do not view the Emperor as a god rather the hand of God and a piece of the Eternal Sun itself, therefore, the Emperors word is law.

Talons of the Hydra
Talons Full
The Talons of the Hydra are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines created from the lineage of the Ultramarines and raised during the Ultima Founding of ca. 999.M41.
Tempered Souls Pict-File Unavailable The Tempered Souls are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 14th Founding from unknown gene-stock. This bellicose Chapter has been conquering and conquesting in the name of the Imperium since their inception. Formerly a fleet-based Chapter, the Tempered Souls traveled from system to system doing the Emperor's will until there are no more enemies for them to slaughter. Following an ambush by a massive Black Legion Chaos fleet, the Tempered Souls were forced to find a Chapter home world after sustaining heavy casualties. Conquering the world of Necro after defeating foul Exodite Aeldari, they now strike out to take the fight to the enemies of Mankind in the name of the Emperor.
Tempest Fists Pict-File Unavailable The Tempest Fists are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created from the inheritance of the venerable Imperial Fists. Like their Primarch Rogal Dorn, their idealism and belief in Mankind's manifest destiny drives them ever onwards, never compromising, never stinting in any aspect of their duties. As true Scions of Dorn, the stone within their souls has granted these stoic Astartes the ability to bear whatever is required of them by the High Lords of Terra. Their unyielding nature led the Imperial Citizens they protect to believe that the Tempest Fists are masters of defense in war, and as indomitable fighters on the attack. Following their inception, the Tempest Fists was granted the hive world of Sidonius IV, a world consumed by endless thunderstorms, and its surrounding planets as their Chapter's demesne, to rule over and defend. Though they are a more recently created Chapter, when mentioned, their battle record is quite exemplary.
Tempest Sons Pict-File Unavailable The Tempest Sons are a Loyalist Adeptus Astartes chapter of the 10th Founding. A successor chapter of the Imperial Fists, they are experts in the art of siege warfare. Circumstances in and around their home system of Ishkar have also given them extensive knowledge in the practice of surgical raiding, often for the purpose of securing artefacts. Their hoarding of recovered artefacts and technology has oft caused the Inquisition to regard them with suspicion. Located in the Scarus Sector of the Segmentum Obscurus, near the Eye of Terror, the Tempest Sons are a bulwark against the hordes of Orks and Chaos that plague the region.
Terror Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Terror Knights are a Renegade Chapter of Ultramarines Successors born of an Unknown Founding. Having first been sighted during M38, the Terror Knights immediately went down in infamy as Marines of the Chapter descended upon the Paradise World of Alcyonea, gunning down thousands of the world’s inhabitants and washing the otherwise beautiful world in blood. Inquisitorial vessels sent to investigate the world soon after this found that those who had survived the onslaught to be broken, collectively chanting the phrase, "Complacency will be punished." (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Teuton Brotherhood Pict-File Unavailable The Teuton Brotherhood are a Loyalist Successor Chapter created from the zealous Black Templars Chapter during the Third Founding. They are the guardians over the Teuton System as well as its benevolent rulers. Most unusual, is that they are a non-Codex Astartes compliant Chapter that have a large number of Astartes, as they favour the use of infantry and drop pod assaults, and have an affinity for close combat as well as siege/tunnel warfare. Unlike their parent chapter, the Brotherhood not only uses Librarians but they have an abundance of them. However, they suffer a fatal flaw in their gene-seed which can cause their Librarians to suffer from uncontrollable mutation when they experience extreme emotions.
Thorn Heralds Pict-File Unavailable The Thorn Heralds were created during the 26th Founding from the lineage of the stoic Imperial Fists. This Chapter was initially created as a quick response force to deal with immediate threats. After only a couple of years of uneventful service, the Chapter was nearly annihilated during the Pernicum Campaign. Afterwards, the Chapter underwent profound structure and organization changes, straying from their former strict Codex Astartes following. Now, the Thorn Heralds have gained a reputation as experts in rescue and exfiltration missions.
Thunder Lances Pict-File Unavailable The Thunder Lances are a Successor Chapter created from the heroic White Scars during the 24th Founding. They are masters of close quarters combat, lighting fast assaults, space battles, and bloody ambushes. They are well known throughout the Galactic East as savage and bloodthirsty warriors, but benevolent and quick to put civilian populations above all other tactical gains. They have been known to be fond of (some chapters would say obsessed with) collecting grizzly trophies from fallen enemies, these mostly take the form of scalps, but skulls, finger bones, eyes and even tanned hides are all prizes that will be taken from a particularly worthy foe.
Thunder Skulls
Primaris Thunder Skulls
The Thunder Skulls are a Successor Chapter of the unquestionably loyal Silver Skulls, itself a supposed successor of the honored Ultramarines. It was founded in 974.M37 during the 23th "Sentinel" Founding following a vision witnessed by the Chief Prognosticator of the Silver Skulls, who anticipated that the Segmentum Tempestus would soon face major problems and convinced Lord Commander Argentius to send the entire 5th Company to garrison the region preemptively as a new chapter with the permission of the High Lords of Terra. The vision proved to be true as in 113.M38 the Black Crusade of Von Mallas errupted in the Segmentum Pacificus and soon spread to the Segmentus Tempestus. By the time that the Black Crusade came, the Thunder Skulls had already been dealing with local instability in the region for over a century and had established strong roots in the Santacruz sub-sector, where they are known to the locals as "Caveiras".
Tiger Fangs Pict-File Unavailable The Tiger Fangs are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding sometime during the latter 41st Millennium from unknown lineage. Stationed on their Chapter home world of Vezora in the Segmentum Ulitma, the Tiger Fangs are a non-Codex Astartes oriented Chapter, who instead of organising themselves in accordance to this sacred scripture, have opted to rely on the tribal influence of their home world in their organisational structure. Despite their unorthodox approach, they have proven themselves in the few warzones that they have found themselves in, finding great success against both the Orks and Dark Aeldari raiding bands, with their most glorious act being during the Battle of Yazd defending the local populace against a large Chaos incursion of Word Bearers Traitor legionaries and Daemons. However this brought them into the light of the Inquisition who began investigating the mysterious Tiger Fangs, as they were curious as to how this relatively young Chapter could have seemingly appeared out of nowhere, with little adherence to the Imperium at large.
Tundranis Pict-File Unavailable The Tundranis Chapter is a now-extinct Loyalist Space Marine Chapter suspected to have been created during the 23rd 'Sentinel' Founding from the lineage of the vaunted White Scars. Their history is stained with blood of their enemies as well as the blood of their own. This Chapter is known to have crusaded to the galactic north-west of the Ultima Segmentum, near the border of the Segmentum Obscurus, hunting xenos on ice planets. Recently, 841.M41, they lost multiple companies in a major battle with vile Orks, who fell to Chaos and hunted down their brothers.
Twilight Shadows Pict-File Unavailable The Twilight Shadows are loyalist Successor Chapter created from the lineage of Corvus Corax. Created during the mysterious 13th Founding, the so-called 'Dark Founding', this Chapter is like many other Raven Guard successors, in that they are masters of stealth and lightning attacks. This sets them at odds with many other more brazen Chapters such as the Black Templars.
Thunder Krakens Pict-File Unavailable The Thunder Krakens are a very peculiar chapter of Space Marines. Part of the 6th founding by the Gene-Seed of Jaghatai Khan, they have been active in all corners of the galaxy, fighting all kinds of enemies. This wide spread activity is only made possible by their unique codex structure: Each Astartes is their own commander.
Tower Guard
Spacemarine-1518202771
The Tower Guard are a loyalist Space Marine chapter created during an unknown founding (Presumed 5th-6th) who originate from the Imperial Fists gene-seed. They are a fleet-based chapter who transverse the vast array of sectors in different segmentums, culling heretics and xenos alike in the name of the God-Emperor of Mankind and their Primarch Rogal Dorn.

Unbroken Spears Pict-File Unavailable The Unbroken Spears are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created from the venerable Imperial Fists during the 11th Founding. Originally named the Shining Lances, the Chapter was nearly destroyed by the Coven of Dark Fates after erroneously following outdated Codex Astartes tactics. Following this disaster, the Chapter reorganised and renamed themselves The Unbroken Spears, and0 elected to follow a different set of tactical and cultural standards than what is proscribed in the Codex.
Unseen Ravens Pict-File Unavailable The Unseen Ravens were a formerly Loyalist Successor Chapter of the Raven Guard, created during the 21st ('Curse') Founding in M36. They were created in an attempt to captialise in the Raven Guard's innate abilities - creating a Chapter of superior stealth troops with unparalleled ability to stay unseen. The newly formed Chapter served with distinction for nearly three millennia, until they fought against a Thousand Sons warband, and were trapped within a warp portal at the height of the cultists' sorcerous ritual. After prolonged warp exposure, the now Chaos-corrupted Chapter became the warband known as the Crow Legion. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Umbral Wardens
Umbral Wardens Tactical Marine
The Umbral Wardens are a codex non-compliant, loyalist chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, founded originally to maintain vigil of Sectorum Umbris: a system of planets orbiting a warp phenomenon in an area of void-space that was once located in the Eastern Fringe. Following the creation of the Cicatrix Maledictum, the entire system that was meant to be the Umbral Wardens' home as well as their vigil was devoured by the rapidly expanding scar. Now, the Umbral Wardens hunt the stars for the forces of Chaos and the reviled Xenos, smiting the enemies of mankind wherever they are found.
Utopians Pict-File Unavailable Utopians are a renegade Space Marines Chapter of unknown origin created during the 21st founding. They consider themselves one of the most reasonable Space Marines Chapters, as their initial approach is always diplomacy and analyzing the opponents and facts before acting. Little is known about this Chapter in Imperial records, as an edict of obliteration was implemented upon them after they refused to annihilate the inhabitants of a human planet named Shantii.

Vehement Raiders Pict-File Unavailable The Vehement Raiders are a formerly Loyalist Successor Chapter created during the 21st ('Cursed') Founding from the lineage of the venerable White Scars. In keeping with their progenitor's traditions, the Vehement Raiders also adopted the lightning assault as their primary mode of conducting warfare. They adopted the position as raiders, crippling Chaos supply lines, luring Ork ships away from conflicts, and assaulting the Tau whenever Ethereals were exposed. They served without mercy, often inflicting numbers of Imperial casualties in their raids, which bothered Imperial officials. Several decades after their Founding, flaws in the Chapter's gene-seed were finally revealed, as several battle-brothers spontaneously mutated during battle - flaw that came to be known as the 'Raider's Flaw'. The inflicted brothers would lose their mind and either become an empty shell or a chaotic berserker beyond any point of reasoning. In desperation, the Vehement Raiders pursued dark paths in a desperate attempt to find a cure. They were miraculously 'saved' through the efforts of their Chief Librarian, but unknown to the rest of the Chapter, it was only through a dark pact he had made with a Greater Daemon known as 'The Stitched'. By the time he had figured out that he was being manipulated, the Chapter had already fallen under the sway of the Dark Gods, and become a Chaos warband. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Venators Pict-File Unavailable The Venators are a rare Successor Chapter of the venerable Raven Guard, created during an Unknown Founding. The Venators' specialise in urban combat and guerrilla warfare, also possessing an affinity for ranged-combat and ambushes. The Chapter is rumored to have their initiates taught by Officio Assassinorum agents. The Venators are somewhat distrusted for their insular nature and "dishonorable" methods, however they continue to smash the Imperium's foes and have compiled a long, glorious legend.
Vermillion Knights
VermillionKnightMarine
The Vermillion Knights are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of the 17th Founding. They are successors of the Blood Angels, having fought countless battles in the Emperor's name, specializing in shock tactics and close-quarters melee combat. However the suffered a catastrophic defeat that killed over 500 battle-brothers in the late 40th Millennium. In shame they coloured their armour black and red and cast aside almost all forms of ranged weapons in penitence. After decades of crusades, they earned their redemption and the attention of the Ordo Hereticus after their devastation of a fearsome Dark Aeldari invasion. The chapter have recently been sent to quell the treasonous activity of the Solar Legion, however their current status has remained to be confirmed.
Vermillion Lions Pict-File Unavailable The Vermillion Lions are a Successor Chapter of the stoic Imperial Fists, created in 528.M41 during the late 10th Founding. It is unknown how they survived this cursed founding but somehow they did and they are still active to this day, and have even had very notable engagements with the forces of Chaos, and many other foes.
Void Eagles
VoidEagle

A Battle Brother of the Void Eagles

The Void Eagles are a loyalist Astartes Chapter of the 13th Dark Founding and unknown lineage. Although based in the Haast system aboard the Eyrie, their star fortress, which the Void Eagles are tasked with guarding, and which in turn guards the only known route into the Abel Prism, the Void Eagles are a crusading chapter who prefer to take the fight to the enemy, typically launching crusades in both directions from their home system to see off any threats before they become unmanagable.
Void Fangs Pict-File Unavailable The Void Fangs are a grim and deadly Successor Chapter of the famed White Scars. Believed to have been created during the 13th ('Dark') Founding, the Void Fangs were once hailed as valiant and noble defenders of the Imperium, now their name is spoken only in hushed whispers and fearful mumblings, for they are now feared as deadly hunters of heretics and xenos alike. The Void Fangs distrust psykers of all stripes, and refuse to have any (save Navigators) within their midst. This stems from the great calamity that still haunts the Chapter in the form of the horrid gene-curse known as the 'Clouding'.
Void Lords Pict-File Unavailable The Void Lords are an older but relatively unknown chapter of loyalist Space Marines of the 9th founding. The Void Lords were originally established and designated as the Stellar Wardens chapter of Space Marines to combat the notably large "Ironteef" Ork Waaagh! In the Charanos sector, infringing on the borders of the Mechanicus controlled Forge World Ventis and several other systems of note. As the battle progressed, they were forced to destroy their own homeworld to contain the threat of the Orks, and spent more time wandering the sector in what remained of their chapter fleet before happening on an ancient and neglected star fortress Arx Dominus. Upon finding this old station and cleansing the machine spirits inside with the help of Mechanicus Tech-Priests, they found new purpose as the bulwark of the worlds of the sector, fighting both xenos and heretics with the burning will of the lessons they had learned.
Void Wolves Pict-File Unavailable The Void Wolves are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of unknown lineage, created during the 23rd ('Sentinel') Founding. They are stationed in the northern part of the Ultima Segmentum, at the very edge of the Emperor's guiding light. There they wage a near constant war against the myriad xenos and traitors that threaten the northern borders of the Empire.
Void Krakens Pict-File Unavailable The Void Krakens, also know as the Alazathian Host and The Blessed Shoal; are a Loyalist Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes birthed during the 13th Founding of M35 by Inquisitorial means. Once held as renegades, due to the secrecy upon their creation and risks held with their continued existence they were declared Excommunicate Traitoris and ordered to be purged by the High Lords of Terra. Though through their fierce loyalty to the God-Emperor and his Imperium even when held in persecution and exile, with ripe opportunity to turn from His light; They were granted a chance to prove they undying loyalty via penance and oath of servitude. For a time their true Primarch and origin Legion was unknown to them, known only to those at the very pinnacle of the Adeptus Terra and the Ordo Astartes of the Inquisition, as official records state them to be Sons of Lion El'Johnson, while such a claim holds many discrepancies and is not represented in the Chapter, along with them having no significant relations with the Dark Angels chapter and it's Successors. Their true origins remained mystified for millennia, that was until the now traitor Kasbiel Cordaras, know as the 'Black Kraken' revealed it to be -REDACTED-. For the past three millennia they have undertook a Crusade of Penance know as the Dead Star Crusade, within the Halo Stars to prove their loyalty to the God-Emperor and his Imperium, and keep the threats beyond His boarders subdued.
Varyags Pict-File Unavailable The Varyags are a collective of Renegade Adeptus Astartes of variable origin under the banner of a singular name. Despite claiming a variety of desires, all dependent on the Space Marine at hand and present, they are all on the same goal of rather barbaric actions to sustain their activities across the galaxy, most notable things such as the pillaging of Imperial Words when in the direst of circumstances. Despite being rather obscure in the contents of their creation, they have been estimated to have been formed in the 34th Millennium, establishing quite a presence in the grander scheme of the galactic battlefield among other contemporaries.
Violet Legion Pict-File Unavailable The Violet Legion is a mostly Codex-adherant chapter, formed with the geneseed of their progenitor, the Imperial Fists. They were initially founded as a standing force for the once-strategically important world of Ythaka, but the Nova Terra Interregnum forced the young chapter into bloody battle, mere decades after the chapter was founded.
Vulpine Hunters
Vulpine Hunter Colour Scheme
The Vulpine Hunters, known in their native tongue as the "Kettu Metsastajat", are a Loyalist semi-Codex Astartes compliant chapter of Primaris Space Marines and a successor chapter of the Space Wolves formed during the Ultima Founding. Like the Wolfspears, the Vulpine Hunters were originally members of the Unnumbered Sons Legion that fought during the Indomitus Crusade of Primarch Roboute Guilliman in 999.M41. However, unlike the Wolfspears, the Vulpine Hunters were rejected outright by their parent chapter due to their reliance on what the Space Wolves saw as “cowardly tactics” – namely on long range engagements and the use of cunning to outmaneuver the enemy and strike at their most vulnerable points. Due to this the chapter was briefly called "the Disowned" and were entirely fleet-based before they settled on the world of Kalevala in the Imperium Nihilus’ Segmentum Obscurus.Z

Wanderers, The
WanderersBloodSworn
The Wanderers (Once known as the Knights Legion) are a Third Founding Chapter of the Dark Angels. They are a loyal Space Marine chapter that operates between the borders of the Ghoul Stars and Halo Stars. A vast uncharted space that only has become more dangerous with dwindling light of the Astronomicon. Due to their near extinction they are non-codex abiding chapter and unlike the rest of the Unforgiven, they do not know their former progenitor chapter. They are known widely for being skilled infiltrators and their guerilla warfare. The chapter follows the "Edict of Angels" that took inspiration from old Earth's Religion for their Command Structure.
War Giants Pict-File Unavailable The War Giants are a mainly Codex Astartes-compliant Chapter of unknown origin and Founding. A brutal Chapter, they are well known for engaging in preventative wars against pre-FTL xenos and are well-liked amongst members of the alien-hunting Ordo Xenos. Who they descend from is a mystery, as despite the purity of their gene-seed, it doesn't quite match up with any other known chapter. It is perhaps for this reason that the War Giants are known for not taking a step back and fighting side by side with Imperial Guard forces, for casualties are not an issue.
Wardens of Benediction Pict-File Unavailable The Wardens of Benediction were a formerly Loyalist Successor Chapter of the stoic Iron Hands created during an 7th Founding sometime in the 400s.M34. Like their progenitors, the Wardens were obsessed with bionic enhancement. When the Wardens moved into the Dragontooth Nebula on a Crusade for the Emperor, the Chapter and their Second Company commander, Captain Maklegor, would be corrupted by an ancient relic of Chaos from the inside out. Eventually, Maklegor removed all obstacles in his way and took command of his fellows as Chaos Lord Maklegor and renamed the Chapter the Wraiths of Maklegor. (Excommunicate Traitoris).
Warp Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Warp Knights are a Renegade Space Marine Chapter that were created during the 3rd Founding from an undisclosed Chapter, though many believe they were created from Imperial Fists' gene-stock. The homeworld, now destroyed, was removed from official Imperial records though all that is known is that it was a tomb world dangerously close to the Eye of Terror. This closeness to the warp may have led to the Chapter's views on the wider universe and eventual damnation. (Excommunicate Traitoris)
Warriors of Fortuity Pict-File Unavailable Created during the 25th Founding from unknown lineage, the Warriors of Fortuity are one of the newest batch of the myriad chapters of Space Marines. Their sole purpose for being created is to add to the defenses of the Ultima Segmentum. Most notably the area of many xenos incursions. Their homeworld of Felix Mundus is in the epicenter of various ork infested planets, the Tau empire, and the Alaitoc craftworld. This also places them near the Realm of Ultramar and Tyranid Hive Fleets' paths.
White Eagles Pict-File Unavailable The White Eagles are a Successor Chapter of the venerable White Scars, created during an Unknown Founding. Like their Progenitors, the White Eagles are also a non-Codex compliant Chapter, due to their fleet-centric doctrine, composed with an inner need to prove oneself present in every knight, resulted in decentralization of the Chapter and its partial divergence from the doctrine laid down in the Codex Astartes. The White Eagles are divided into numerous crusading fleets and each fleet has its own colors to distinguish itself from the others. Among each fleet there are many knight houses, that usually consist of a cruiser, its escorts their crew and a handful of Astartes.
White Exemplars Pict-File Unavailable The White Exemplars are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding, presumably from the lineage of the stoic Imperial Fists. A peculiar Chapter, the White Exemplare are extremely devout, possessing a fanatic hatred towards psykers. But ironically, they possess an extremely high amount of pyschic mutation in their own gene-seed. Though this might seem like a contradiction, the fact of the matter is simple - the White Exemplars do not believe themselves to be psykers. Rather, they see themselves as the chosen Chapter of the Emperor, and are granted His holy powers to wield against the xenos, the mutant and the heretic.
White Lions
White Lions Marine
The White Lions are a Loyalist Codex Astartes-compliant Adeptus Astartes Chapter founded in M36 and rumoured to be descended from the Imperial Fists. Located in the Ultima Segmentum to the north of the realm of Ultramar, the Chapter has patrolled the area since their inception, ever-watchful for xenos incursions. In more recent years, the White Lions have been heavily involved in the Damocles Gulf Crusade, being assigned to monitor the activities of the Tau Empire, and defend against their southern advances into the Imperium.
White Tigers Pict-File Unavailable A semi-Codex Astartes compliant Space Marine Chapter, created after the climax of the Nova Terra Interregnum. They were long thought to be one of the 8th Founding chapters alongside the famous Mantis Warriors, but recently, the chapter has confirmed their origins as the 16th Founding. The White Tigers are known for its efforts in areas surrounding the infamous Bassenheim Nebula. They also gloriously took part in several notable campaigns during the Age of Apostasy and later in the Redemption Crusades.
Winter Knights Pict-File Unavailable The Winter Knights are a 17th Founding Chapter of Imperial Fists' descent, and as such they are generally more determined than most other Chapters in the prosecution of their duties. While fiercely devoted to the Imperium and the Emperor, they are generally more occupied with their own inevitable death than other Chapters of Dorn. This means they shun the self-flagellation that is so common amongst their brothers, but they fight without anything held back, unworried by their imminent death.
Wolf's-Head Marines
Wolf's-Head Destroyer Squaddie
The Wolf's-Head Marines are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during an Unknown Founding and of uncertain origins. This Chapter is believed to have been created no later than the 8th Founding. They are known to be a non-Codex Astartes compliant Chapter are one of the most stubbornly secretive of the naturally reticent Adeptus Astartes Chapters and not at all forthcomign about their origins and early history.
Wyverns
Wyvernsadasdas
The Wyverns are a Codex Astartes-compliant Successor Chapter created during the 10th Founding from the proud lineage of the Ultramarines. The Wyverns prefer to use Drop Pods assaults to swiftly attack their foes, just like their mythological namesake, the wyvern, would do. They approach their enemies at high altitude and then descend from the sky like swooping dragons, preferring to land directly on top of their foes. To prepare for such swift and accurate assaults, it has been theorised by Imperial military savants that the the Chapter most likely utilises their elite Scouts to mark the positions for the Drop Pods and clear the avenues of approach by sabotaging any enemy anti-aircraft ordnance. This ensures a high degree of accuracy when the Chapter engages their selected targets. The Wyverns are currently led by Chapter Master Axelius Rakseel.
Warden Monarchs Pict-File Unavailable The Warden Monarchs are vehement defenders of their territory, believing their duty to protect their people from onslaught and only to strike against their foes in vengeance. Utilizing defensive tactics and putting the safety of their own above utter annihilation of their enemy. While relatively small, they attempt to protect planets within their system and keep other factions away.
Wardens of the Slain
Wardens of the Slain colour scheme - 5th Company 4th squad Battleline
The Wardens of the Slain are a Loyalist Successor chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, from the 19th Founding. They have a strong culture of respecting the dead, whether their own, or those of their allies. Their homeworld of Cenotaph is covered by multiple hostile biomes, and is frequently wracked by violent storms, causing the Wardens of the Slain to be specialists at fighting in hostile environments.

They are currently lead by Chapter Master Tunai Mubako.

Zero Legion
Zero Legion Leader
The Zero Legion is a mysterious Space Marine Chapter of Unknown Founding and uncertain lineage. There is very little information on them, and what little exists, is sealed away in the deepest vaults by the Inquisition. This unusual has shown to possess numerous technologies and weaponry of the early days of the Imperium, thought loss during the Horus Heresy, as well as relic archaeotech from the Dark Age of Technology as well as incredible Warp Technology too. How they came to obtain such powerful and forbidden technology is unknown. These Astartes have shown to possess high resistance to the warp, as well as strong regenerative healing factors, able to reattach severed limbs. They have also shown a deep grudge against not just the Chaos Space Marines of the Traitor Legion, but also the Ecclesiarchy, viewing the former as a threat to mankind, and the latter as a disease. Despite that, they appear to have a good relationship with the Adeptus Mechanicus, for their sharing of their technology with the Tech-Priest of Mars, and several Adeptus Astartes Chapters, as well as strong resolve of the defence of humanity.
